‘Zootopia 2’, which opened on the 26th of last month, began its box-office run by drawing 2.1 million moviegoers nationwide within five days of its domestic release. In the process, the so-called ‘Easter egg’ elements (pranks hidden by the creators) that appear in the film have drawn attention. In particular, brief phrases that call to mind a third and fourth ‘Zootopia’ flashed by as props and drew notice.
Animator Lee Hyun-Min said, “We like to hide little details within the work among ourselves,” adding, “We were simply glad to be able to make a second film after the first. Because it was such a fun project, we included settings with the hope that an opportunity to make the next installment would come.”
Explaining the relationship between the protagonists Judy and Nick, animator Choi Young-Jae left a hint, saying, “If a third installment comes out, I think they could sync up in a more distinctive way, but we do not yet know what will happen.”

‘Zootopia 2’ is a sequel released a full nine years after the first film. It is an adventure film in which Zootopia’s top duo, Judy and Nick, return, leap into a new world as they pursue Gary, a mysterious snake who is rocking the city, and investigate a perilous case.
Since its release, it has been on a strong run, surpassing $500 million (about 735.4 billion KRW) in global box-office revenue, including Korea. The film is currently playing in theaters.
