Actor Jeon Do-yeon shared her thoughts on the remarkable growth of Kim Go-eun.

At 4:35 p.m. on the 3rd, a press conference for the Netflix drama ‘The Price of Confession’ was held at CGV Yongsan in Seoul. Attendees included director Lee Jung-hyo as well as actors Jeon Do-yeon, Kim Go-eun, and Park Hae-soo.

Previously, Jeon Do-yeon and Kim Go-eun worked together in the 2015 film ‘Memories of the Sword’. This work is an action period drama that portrays, in the late Goryeo period, a betrayal by a man and, 18 years later, the clash among three swords surrounding him: Yoo-baek (Lee Byung-hun), Wol-so (Jeon Do-yeon), and Hong-yi (Kim Go-eun).

Jeon first spoke about reuniting with Kim Go-eun, saying, “(during filming of ‘Memories of the Sword’) Ms. Kim Go-eun was young, and I was young then as well. Seeing Ms. Kim Go-eun this time, I found myself thinking, ‘Has my growth stopped?’” She continued, “Back during ‘Memories of the Sword,’ I thought I could be a small source of support, but with this project I was the one who relied on her,” sincerely praising the growth of her junior.

Kim Go-eun recalled, “During ‘Memories of the Sword,’ I was so consumed with carrying out my role that I hardly knew what I was doing. It was to the point where I wondered how I even managed. I would often call my senior late at night because I could not sleep from so much worry, and although surprised, she always answered.” She also said, “I later heard that on days when I was filming alone, my senior called the director behind the scenes, telling him ‘how important this role is for Go-eun,’ and she gave me tremendous help both physically and emotionally.”

For this project, Kim Go-eun said she, too, gained some peace of mind. Kim said, “This time I had more leeway in terms of screen time, so I wanted to care for my senior more than before,” and added with a laugh, “I even tried saying things like ‘Please have a seat’ and ‘It seems you will need to wait,’ for no particular reason. I wanted to be a reassuring presence, even a little.”

The Netflix series ‘The Price of Confession’ is a mystery thriller that depicts incidents unfolding between ‘Yoon-su’ (Jeon Do-yeon), who is cast as a suspect in the murder of her husband, and the enigmatic figure ‘Mo-eun’ (Kim Go-eun), who is called a witch, two women who carry secrets. Even before release, it has been drawing major attention for its bold subject matter and distinctive atmosphere.

‘The Price of Confession’ will be released on Netflix on the 5th.
