MBC ‘Judge Lee Han-Young’

Set to premiere on January 2, 2026, MBC new Friday-Saturday drama ‘Judge Lee Han-Young’ (Planning Jang Jae-Hoon/Screenplay Kim Kwang-Min/Directors Lee Jae-Jin, Park Mi-Yeon/Production OH Story, Slingshot Studio) is a regression drama in which the corrupt judge Lee Han-Young, who had lived as a slave to a giant law firm, returns to ten years earlier and, through new choices, punishes great evils to realize justice.

In the story, Ji Sung plays Lee Han-Young, the son-in-law of Haenal Law Firm and a judge nicknamed the ‘servant judge’, while Oh Se-Young plays Yoo Se-Hee, the youngest daughter of Haenal Law Firm.

On the 3rd, the ‘Judge Lee Han-Young’ team released a two-shot still capturing the couple Ji Sung and Oh Se-Young in a delicate relationship, igniting the spark for the love-and-hate narrative they will unfold.

Lee Han-Young, played by Ji Sung, is a judge from a humble background who chose to climb higher and married Yoo Se-Hee, becoming the ‘servant judge’ for Haenal Law Firm. Because their bond was forged by a desire for money and comfort, only a biting chill blows between Han-Young and Se-Hee. Then, after an unexpected accident sends him back to his days as a single-judge ten years earlier, Han-Young approaches Se-Hee this time with the goal of realizing justice. The meaningful smile he wears while holding a mobile phone subtly heightens the tension and raises curiosity about what will unfold between the two.

Yoo Se-Hee, played by Oh Se-Young, is the youngest daughter of the top law firm in South Korea, Haenal Law Firm, blessed with perfect looks and a personality full of conceit. Having grown up without lack, she is proud and unyielding; when Lee Han-Young defies orders from Haenal Law Firm, she turns her back on him without hesitation. After returning to ten years earlier, Se-Hee has the worst first meeting with the ‘strange man’ Lee Han-Young on a blind date and finds herself increasingly drawn to him.

Ji Sung and Oh Se-Young will not only portray a man and a woman who start anew with different aims amid a marriage filled with chill, but will also engage in a war of nerves surrounding Haenal Law Firm, which is deeply entangled in influence-peddling trials. Expectations are rising for the impact their intricate relationship will have as it drives new waves into the drama.

‘Judge Lee Han-Young’ is based on a work of the same name that recorded 11.81 million reads for the original web novel and 90.66 million for the webtoon, totaling 100.247 million views. Director Lee Jae-Jin, who showcased stylish direction through ‘The Banker’, ‘The Spies Who Loved Me’, and ‘Motel California’, has joined forces with director Park Mi-Yeon and writer Kim Kwang-Min.
