Actor Kim Yo-han has raised the excitement on the small screen, emerging as a ‘next-generation rom-com master’.

In the Wavve original drama ‘The 4th Love Revolution’, Kim Yo-han played ‘Kang Min-hak’, an influencer with a million followers.

He convincingly portrayed the face of youth who repeatedly wrestles with inner growth and values, coming to understand the meaning of true love. In particular, with a charm that moves between purity and charisma, Kim Yo-han unfolded a straightforward romance and rose as a ‘next-generation rom-com master’.

The following is a Q&A with Kim Yo-han to mark the drama’s finale.

Q. ‘The 4th Love Revolution’ has ended. How do you feel about saying goodbye to Kang Min-hak?

A. It was my first project filmed on a university campus, and I was truly honored to meet viewers as Kang Min-hak. Above all, through the character of Kang Min-hak, I think I was able to show a variety of charms, which makes this project even more meaningful to me. I sincerely thank the viewers who loved ‘The 4th Love Revolution’.

Q. You played someone 180 degrees different from Yoon Sung-jun in your previous work ‘Try’. While playing Kang Min-hak, what did you focus on the most?

A. Because Yoon Sung-jun in ‘Try’ and Kang Min-hak in ‘The 4th Love Revolution’ are characters with very different textures, I felt like I pressed a switch in myself each time I acted. If Yoon Sung-jun had strong qualities of being calm and solid, Kang Min-hak is cheerful and delicate, so I worked hard to make his tone, reactions, and energy all different.

Q. Was there anything you worked on to show a new side of Kim Yo-han?

A. I didn’t want to show only Min-hak’s pure side. Even if he seems bright on the outside, I tried to express how much he agonizes on the inside, so in scenes where his emotions waver, I thought deeply about even the detailed parts, such as small changes in facial expressions.

Q. You also sang the OST ‘You Are My Light’ for ‘The 4th Love Revolution’. With what mindset did you sing it?

A. Participating in the OST of a project I appear in is always a special experience, and I approached it with gratitude this time as well. I wanted to capture the project’s mood as much as possible, so during recording I focused while recalling Kang Min-hak’s emotional arc.

Q. You’ve earned the label ‘next-generation rom-com master’. Are there any genres or characters you’d like to take on going forward?

A. I like romantic comedies, and after trying action acting, I found it fun and want to keep challenging myself. Beyond that, whatever the genre or role, if an opportunity comes my way, I want to prepare diligently and continue taking on challenges.

Q. Please say a word to the viewers who loved ‘The 4th Love Revolution’. Also share your hopes for the upcoming 2026.

A. I sincerely thank everyone who loved ‘The 4th Love Revolution’ to the end and cheered for Kang Min-hak. It’s a project that even those who haven’t seen it yet can enjoy comfortably, so I hope you’ll give it a try.
