Lee Young-pyo of MBN’s marathon variety show ‘Run to Live Season 2’ confides his true feelings, saying, “Because Brother Sean was away competing in the Chicago Marathon, I really wanted to tell him, ‘We really did well,’ and that made the pressure heavy.”
In episode 3 of MBN’s ‘Run to Live Season 2’, airing on the 8th (Mon) at 10:10 p.m., the first team event, the ‘2025 MBN National Naju Marathon’, unfolds, revealing scenes of the ‘Run to Live crew’ colliding with unexpected variables and dramatic moments.
On this day, with captain Sean absent, Lee Young-pyo takes on the leader role and holds his place among the frontrunners from the early stages without wavering. Regarding this, he reveals a weighty sense of responsibility, saying, “I want to try setting a personal best today,” and, “When Brother Sean returns, I want to be able to say, ‘We really did well.’” Close on Lee Young-pyo’s heels, Lee Gi-kwang exudes passion, saying, “With someone pulling from the front, it seems like a good chance to test my limits.” Before long, however, he becomes flustered, saying, “I suddenly had nothing to lean on, like a youngster that has lost its mother. What should I look to in order to keep running now?” As curiosity builds over what on earth has happened to him, since this team event is decided by the sum of team times, Jung Hye-in’s race emerges as an important variable.
Jung Hye-in maintains a good pace early on, but she falters sharply in the 10km section around the turnaround. Side pain and the effect of water she gulped down cause her pace to collapse. Jung confesses, “A critical moment hit as soon as I rounded the turnaround. My side hurt so much that I even considered stopping.” As each of her steps directly connects to the team result, attention gathers over how Jung Hye-in will overcome this wall, while Im Soo-hyang also runs into a crisis. Thanks to Yang Se-hyung volunteering as pacemaker, she begins the challenge with an easy mind, but on the way to the turnaround she complains of ankle and knee pain and ends up halting her run.
In the absence of Sean, whether the ‘Run to Live crew’, entering their first team event, can produce a valuable result at the ‘Naju Marathon’ can be confirmed in episode 3 of MBN’s ‘Run to Live Season 2’, airing on the 8th (Mon) at 10:10 p.m.
