MBN·Channel S ‘Jun Hyun-moo Plan 3’
On ‘Jun Hyun-moo Plan 3,’ Ha Jung-woo, in his capacity as a director, offers a candid assessment of Jun Hyun-moo’s acting.
In episode 8 of the full-on real street food documentary ‘Jun Hyun-moo Plan 3’ (co-produced by MBN·Channel S·SK Broadband), airing at 9:10 p.m. on the 5th (today), ‘eating buddies’ Jun Hyun-mooGwak Tube (Gwak Jun-bin) and ‘eating buddies’ Ha Jung-wooKim Dong-wook join forces and set out to hunt down Seoul’s ‘Office Workers’ Night’ hotspots.
That day, guided by Jun Hyun-moo, the four head to an eatery by winding through the dim maze of alleys in Seoul’s Chunghyeon-dong. As the unfamiliar alleys continue, Kim Dong-wook tilts his head and says, “There’s a restaurant here?”, and Ha Jung-woo also marvels, “How do you even know about a place like this?” At the hidden spot they finally reach, they are greeted by a ‘spicy-sweet’ soy sauce kodari-jjim and launch into a full-on mukbang. In particular, Ha Jung-woo and Kim Dong-wook, who call themselves ‘spice lightweights’, say, “The spiciness is rising from inside,” sweating like waterfalls and drawing laughs. Ha Jung-woo then showcases an extraordinary level of ‘spice intolerance’, saying, “I can’t eat jjamppong, mapo tofu, or malatang. Even in ‘War on Crime,’ I ate sweet-and-sour pork.”
When talk turns to ‘Ha Jung-woo’s mukbang’, Jun Hyun-moo mentions the much-talked-about ‘seaweed mukbang’ in the film ‘The Yellow Sea’ and asks, “Doesn’t it bother you when you have to act while eating?” Ha Jung-woo reveals a behind-the-scenes story: “The director of ‘Berlin’ once cut out my mukbang because he said all you could see was me eating.” At that moment, Gwak Tube throws a curveball: “We have actor Jun Hyun-moo, too. Have you ever seen Hyun-moo act?” Ha Jung-woo sends his ‘respect’: “The dance acting in that health drink commercial (featuring Jun Hyun-moo) was so impactful…” Then Jun Hyun-moo makes a first-time confession: “Actually, the day before shooting that commercial, I broke up with my girlfriend. I filmed it with the heart of a clown in tears.” Caught off guard by the unexpected remark, Gwak Tube hurriedly showers him with over-the-top praise, saying, “So you were the Joker~”, and Ha Jung-woo even coins a nickname: “There’s a new moniker. Joaquin Hyun-moo Phoenix!” leaving the set in stitches.
The ‘Seoul by Night’ special food trip, bolstered by Ha Jung-woo and Kim Dong-wook, who are as serious about mukbang as they are about acting, can be seen in episode 8 of MBN·Channel S’s ‘Jun Hyun-moo Plan 3’, airing at 9:10 p.m. on the 5th (today).
