XG member COCONA shared a meaningful revelation on their 20th birthday.
On the 6th, through XG's social media, COCONA stated that they are ‘AFAB Transmasculine non-binary’ (AFAB transmasculine non-binary). This refers to a person who was assigned female at birth but does not define themselves solely as a woman, and whose identity is closer to masculinity or formed within that spectrum.
In the post made public, COCONA explained the reason for making this disclosure, saying, “As I reach the major turning point of twenty, I wanted to share even a little of the thoughts I have kept deep in my heart.” COCONA said, “I am AFAB transmasculine non-binary. I underwent a mastectomy this year,” and added, “The hardest thing in my life was accepting and acknowledging myself. Now that I have been able, even a little, to accept myself and to move forward by even 0.1 of a step, I have been able to open a new door.”
In the accompanying photo, COCONA poses holding flowers, wearing only a black jacket over a bare torso. The chest area revealed between the jacket shows scars from the mastectomy.

Finally, COCONA delivered a meaningful message along with courage, saying, “I hope this post becomes even a small light in the heart of someone. And I hope it reaches everyone who needs my love,” adding that the process of recognizing oneself brought great growth, and expressing deep gratitude to the members who shared the journey, chief producer JAKOPS (SIMON JUNHO PARK), and their parents.
JAKOPS, XG's chief producer and the agency CEO, posted on personal social media, saying, “On this day when COCONA mustered courage and conveyed what is in the heart to the world, I am filled with sincere emotion and deep respect,” and added, “I will continue to provide genuine support so that each person is respected not only as an ‘active artist’ but also as a human being who can love their own life.”
He continued, “While I am truly proud of the dazzling music and visuals XG creates, what I most want to share with the world is the members’ pure and essential hearts. That true energy, love, and growth as human beings are the ‘’(CORE) of our XG and XGALX.” He added, “Eight years have passed since I met XG, and as of today all the members have become adults. To commemorate this, I am releasing for the first time the commemorative photo taken this year on Coming-of-Age Day,” unveiling a photo with the members and adding meaning by showing the special and beautiful relationship between artist and producer.
This revelation by COCONA has once again imprinted XG's core identity of ‘Courage, Love, Hope’ around the world, and it raises expectations that they will continue to present messages and performances that transcend boundaries and evolve further.
