Broadcaster Park Na-rae will abruptly suspend her broadcasting activities.
Her side said in a phone call with Sports Kyunghyang on the 8th that "Taking responsibility for the various allegations that have recently arisen, she plans to step down from the programs she is currently appearing on and suspend her activities."
Her side stated that after the suspension, together with the law firm previously retained, they will prepare for the upcoming police investigation and work to prove her innocence regarding the various allegations placed on her.
Currently, her side is conveying this decision to the production teams of her major programs and coordinating subsequent schedules. Park Na-rae is a regular on the MBC variety show "I Live Alone," as well as "Save Me! Homes," and tvN's "Amazing Saturday - DoReMi Market." She also posted an apology on SNS (social networking service) that day and announced a suspension of activities.
On the 3rd, Park Na-rae found herself at the center of controversy when managers who had worked at N Park, the one-person agency she operated, applied for a provisional attachment of her real estate after resigning.
The former managers are also preparing to file a damages lawsuit in the range of 100 million won $75,000 (100,000,000 KRW), citing workplace bullying and verbal abuse during their employment, aggravated assault, proxy prescriptions, and nonpayment of operating expenses.
In response, N Park filed a complaint against the managers on charges of blackmail, stating that "After receiving their severance pay recently, the managers additionally demanded an amount equivalent to 10% of the company's previous year's sales," and that "The demanded amount also increased, and we also detected their suspected embezzlement."
However, it is said that she has recently come under significant psychological pressure as allegations continued to surface regarding illegal medical practices by a person known as the so-called "Injection Aunt," suspicions that the agency was unregistered, and claims that her side attempted to reach a settlement with a former manager. Accordingly, she is expected to soon issue an official apology through her agency and announce her intention to suspend activities.
