On the 8th, a video titled “Daily gyaru girl makeup✨ A makeover that makes your eyes look bigger from every angle” was uploaded to the YouTube channel ‘Go Jun-hee GO’.

Explaining why she decided to try it, Go Jun-hee said, “Lately I have been thinking that I want to try various makeup looks, and Y2K gyaru makeup seems to be trending. On Instagram, the makeup look of Tzuyu kept popping up. Pretty gyaru makeup seems to be what many idols are doing these days, so I thought I would give it a try.”

Earlier, broadcaster Lee Mi-joo drew attention by showcasing gyaru makeup on her own YouTube channel ‘Just Lee Mi-joo’.

At the beginning of the video, Go Jun-hee appeared with a bare face to get gyaru makeup. The makeup artist explained, “When it first came out, it had a heavy image, but it has evolved these days. People tend to do it much more lightly. Being gyaru does not mean an extremely old-school gyaru look; it just needs to be pretty. A point I focus on with gyaru makeup is adding shimmer to the inner corners of the eyes.”

As she gradually transformed into a ‘gyaru girl’, Go Jun-hee shared her thoughts: “I tried gyaru makeup, and personally I like it. It feels like a fascinating experience. I even applied false lashes, which I normally do not, and I tried contouring for the first time. My face looks a bit smaller, and I think I understand why people contour. And I think I understand why people like gyaru makeup so much.”
