The team behind the tvN variety show ‘You Quiz on the Block’ announced its position regarding the departure of Cho Se-ho.
On the 9th, the production team stated, “We respect the decision by Cho Se-ho to step down after much deliberation, and beginning with future recordings, Mr. Cho Se-ho will not participate in the production of this program.”
It added, “The two weeks of footage already recorded will air as scheduled, and the recording scheduled for this week is a commitment to guests already slated to appear, so cancellation is difficult; therefore, it will proceed without Mr. Cho Se-ho.”
On the 9th, regarding the earlier rumors of links to organized crime, Cho Se-ho said, “The allegations raised are completely untrue,” while also stating, “I reflected on whether I was causing harm to the programs I am responsible for,” and announced that he would step down from the shows he is currently appearing on, ‘You Quiz on the Block’ and KBS2 ‘2 Days & 1 Night’.
Earlier, a netizen alleged via social networking service (SNS) that, in a provincial area, Cho Se-ho was acquainted with a gangster, Mr. A, and raised the suspicion that ‘Cho Se-ho accepted money or expensive gifts and promoted a franchise operated by Mr. A’. In response, A2Z, the agency of Cho Se-ho, rebutted that it was “merely personal conjecture (by the accuser)” and announced legal action.
