KBS1 ‘Gayo Stage’ broadcast capture

Singer Song Ga-in filled ‘Gayo Stage’ with a dramatically moving live performance.

Song Ga-in appeared on the KBS1 ‘Gayo Stage’ Life Is Drama edition, which aired at 10 p.m. on the 8th, and delivered a stage imbued with deep narrative that moved viewers profoundly.

Wearing a see-through black jeogori and a hanbok dress accented with deep teal embroidery, Song Ga-in took the stage and exuded a classical aura. Opening with ‘Saekdong Jeogori’, a track from her fourth full album ‘Gain; Dal’ that carries tender feelings for her mother, she authentically conveyed the song’s lingering resonance with her signature plaintive sentiment and poignant vocal style.

In the subsequent ‘Mother Arirang’, she once again showcased the power of a ‘top-tier vocalist’, unfolding warm emotion within an upbeat flow. Her delicate expressiveness, controlling even subtle tremors over a lively rhythm, further deepened the song’s narrative, and with a dramatic sensibility oscillating between restraint and explosion, she left a profound afterglow that reached living rooms beyond the venue.

After ending a long period of obscurity by being named the inaugural ‘Jin’ on TV Chosun’s ‘Miss Trot’ in 2019 and writing her own drama in the trot scene, Song Ga-in recently once again proved her presence as a ‘national treasure singer’ when her signature song ‘Gain-ieora’ was included in a Korean music textbook as the first trot song ever featured.

On February 14 at 7 p.m. and February 15 at 6 p.m. (local time) at the Pechanga Theater in Los Angeles, USA, Song Ga-in will hold concerts titled ‘Gain Dal The Rise’, showcasing the beauty of trot music on the global stage.
