Singer Jung Jae-hyung drew a firm line against rumors that he was involved in the so-called ‘Injection Aunt’ gate sparked by broadcaster Park Na-rae.
Antenna, the agency representing Jung Jae-hyung, told ‘Sports Kyunghyang’ on the 10th, “We are issuing an official statement to correct stories that are not true and have been distorted. To prevent any further misunderstandings regarding the variety show footage at the center of the controversy, we clearly state that we have absolutely no connection to the matter,” and added, “We have no personal ties or even acquaintance with Mr. A (Injection Aunt).”
Recently, Park Na-rae has faced criticism after allegations emerged that she received illegal medical services from a person known as ‘Injection Aunt’ at an officetel, filming locations, and elsewhere.
Meanwhile, on the MBC program ‘I Live Alone’ aired on December 13 last year, a scene in which Jung Jae-hyung, while making kimchi with Park Na-rae, said, “When you make a reservation for an IV drip tomorrow, I should get one too,” resurfaced as an issue. At the time, Park Na-rae also replied, “Okay, book the IV drip together,” prompting suspicions that ‘Injection Aunt’ might also be connected to Jung Jae-hyung. On top of that, as MBC, conscious of the controversy, set the video to private, the doubts grew further.
Meanwhile, two of Park Na-rae’s former managers alleged that she had continuously received illegal medical treatment from Injection Aunt, took antidepressants without a prescription, and even brought Ms. Lee along to the 2023 ‘I Live Alone’ shoot in Taiwan. In response, representatives for Park Na-rae countered, “We understand that (Ms. Lee) holds a medical license, and there has been no use of antidepressants. Her accompaniment on the Taiwan shoot was due to personal acquaintance.”
As the suspicions persist, Key of SHINee also became embroiled in rumors of a personal connection after Injection Aunt posted last year photos and posts inferred to show his pet dog and home. SM Entertainment, his agency, is withholding comment.
