The Korea Pediatric Cancer Foundation (Chairperson Lee Sung-hee) said on the 10th that singer Kim Hee-jae donated 500,000 won in prize money from the November King of Singers on Seonhan Star to support emergency treatment costs for children with childhood cancer, leukemia, and rare and hard-to-treat diseases.
Seonhan Star is a donation platform service that champions the positive influence of stars. It operates by having users watch videos and songs of singers who participate in the King of Singers in the app, support them through in-app missions, and donate prize money according to the rankings.
Singer Kim Hee-jae, who has reached a cumulative donation of 48.68 million won through Seonhan Star, recently successfully held the Daejeon performance of the 2025 nationwide tour concert ‘Hee-yeol’ and is scheduled to continue with a performance in Ulsan.
The prize money donated in the name of singer Kim Hee-jae will be used to support emergency treatment costs for young patients suffering from childhood cancer, leukemia, and rare and hard-to-treat diseases. The emergency treatment cost support program of the Korea Pediatric Cancer Foundation is promptly delivered to families facing financial crisis due to sudden high medical expenses, supporting hospitalization fees, medication costs, and ancillary treatment expenses to minimize gaps in care and help children concentrate on treatment in a stable environment.
Hong Seung-yoon, a director at the Korea Pediatric Cancer Foundation, said, “Thank you for extending a warm hand to sick children during the cold winter. We support the future activities of singer Kim Hee-jae.”
The Korea Pediatric Cancer Foundation is a nonprofit foundation registered with the Ministry of Health and Welfare in 2001, and it carries out various programs, including support for treatment and surgery costs for children with childhood cancer, leukemia, and rare diseases; support for outpatient treatment costs and emergency treatment costs; emotional support; blood donation campaigns; and support for shelters for children with childhood cancer.
