TV personality Kim Kyung-ran recounted how she saved actress Sunwoo Yong-yeo’s life in 2016 when Sunwoo showed symptoms of a cerebral infarction.
On the 10th, the YouTube channel ‘Sunpung Sunwoo Yong-yeo’ uploaded a video titled “A harrowing cerebral infarction.. Sunwoo Yong-yeo prepared a proper restorative meal for Yoon Jung-soo and Kim Kyung-ran, who saved my life (home-cooked spread).”
In August 2016, Sunwoo Yong-yeo showed symptoms of a cerebral infarction during a program recording and suspended her activities. Kim Kyung-ran, who was filming with her at the time, noticed early signs as Sunwoo’s speech became slurred during their conversation and immediately requested that the recording be stopped.
Kim recalled, “Why is she talking about something else? And why is her speech getting slurred? I went ‘Huh?’ but she kept talking about something else.” She continued, “We paused the recording for a moment and called a doctor. I felt something was a bit off.”

She added, “What I still can’t forget is that when we told her to go to the hospital quickly, the teacher (Sunwoo Yong-yeo) said, ‘I’ll drive myself.’ We insisted absolutely not,” and explained, “Because we had to keep recording and couldn’t drive her ourselves, we called a designated driver.”
Sunwoo Yong-yeo said, “From then on, I came to think very seriously about my health. What I’m so grateful for in my life is that because that happened, I began to take care of my body.”
Regarding the situation at the time, Yoon Jung-soo added, “If you miss the golden time by just 30 minutes, oxygen to the brain is cut off. Her mouth looked off, too,” emphasizing that Kim Kyung-ran’s swift judgment was decisive.
