Actor Lee Ha-yul etched a vivid presence in ‘The Price of Confession’ as the pivotal starting point of the tragedy.
Released on the 5th, the Netflix series ‘The Price of Confession’ is a mystery thriller about Yoon-su (Jeon Do-yeon), cast as the suspect in the murder of her husband, and Mo-eun (Kim Go-eun), an enigmatic figure dubbed a witch, depicting what unfolds between the two, who harbor many secrets.
Following its release, it drew significant attention, reaching No. 2 in the Netflix Global TOP 10 Series (Non-English). Lee Ha-yul plays Lee Gi-dae, the husband of Ahn Yoon-su, who meets a mysterious death, opening the door to the mystery.
Lee Gi-dae (Lee Ha-yul) goes from the central figure of a modest yet beautiful wedding to a tragic victim, discovered collapsed and bleeding on a night of torrential rain. His sudden death begins to upend the entire life of his wife Yoon-su and becomes the fuse for a mystery, driving the tension to the extreme as the search for the truth (who really killed him) unfolds.
From the image of a happy husband to the moment of his tragic death, Lee Ha-yul delivers a powerful shock early on. Despite his brief appearance, he leaves a lingering warmth and affection for his family, while delivering a dense portrayal of the multilayered Lee Gi-dae, an artist marked by sensitivity and a distinct sense of self.
In particular, by conveying without wavering the tension sparked by the death of Lee Gi-dae, he firmly imprints his presence as a central axis of the story.
