Actress Jung Ryeo-won won the Best Actress Award in the film category at the 33rd Korea Culture and Entertainment Awards.
Held on the 10th at the Grand Hyatt Seoul, the 33rd Korea Culture and Entertainment Awards is a comprehensive arts awards ceremony that spans a wide range of fields, including culture and arts at home and abroad, pop music, TV, film, drama, musicals, theater, actors, models, and K-pop singers.
Taking the stage as an awardee, Jung Ryeo-won began, “Thank you so much for giving me such a precious award.” She continued, “I am deeply moved and grateful that the result of everyone coming together to support Director Go Hye-jin on her debut feature seems to have returned as such a great blessing.”
She added, “Through this project, I learned a great deal about how powerful the synergy can be when people who go above and beyond come together with one heart,” and expressed her gratitude, saying, “I want to share all the glory of this award with the staff who created ‘The Woman in a White Car’ together.” Finally, she concluded, “I will strive to be an actor who delivers good acting with good material going forward.”

In the film ‘The Woman in a White Car’, Jung Ryeo-won played ‘Do-kyung’, a writer searching for the truth amid fragmented memories, and showcased a striking transformation in her acting. Long noted for a polished, urbane image, she perfectly conveyed an unstable inner world with bare, rough skin without makeup, a defocused gaze, and expressions trembling with anxiety.
By portraying Do-kyung in multilayered ways as she appears differently through the eyes of each character, the work further heightened immersion and mystery, leaving a lingering resonance as a new face on the big screen.
With ‘The Woman in a White Car’, Jung Ryeo-won has achieved a remarkable feat, following her Korean Fantastic Actor Award at the 26th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival with the Best Actress Award in the film category at the Korea Culture and Entertainment Awards.
