The group ILLIT will release a new song in Japan that captures their lovely charm, continuing their rise.

According to HYBE Music Group label Belift Lab on the 13th, ILLIT will release its second Japanese digital single, ‘Sunday Morning’, on the 13th of next month.

‘Sunday Morning’ is a J-pop rock song that portrays the great power of love that no one can stop. It contains the sparkling emotions and wistful longing of a Sunday morning when you want to go meet the one you like right away.

Mega Shinnosuke, a singer born in 2000 who sang ‘Love and YouとU (Ai to U))’ that sparked a TikTok syndrome, took part in the songwriting. The collaboration between two artists leading the short-form trend is expected to draw an enthusiastic response from fans in their teens and twenties.

‘Sunday Morning’ will also be used as the opening theme for Season 2 of the animation ‘Princess “Torture” Time’, which will be broadcast next month on Japanese terrestrial channels and OTT platforms. Through this animation’s teaser, part of the track was unveiled the day before, and the members deliver energetic vocals that pair impressively with a bright, bouncy melody.

With ILLIT rapidly expanding its fandom since its official debut in Japan, expectations are high for whether they will ignite another surge in popularity. In February, ILLIT released the theme song ‘Almond Chocolate’ for the Japanese film ‘I Do Not Like You Just for Your Looks’, earning favorable reviews.

‘Almond Chocolate’ won the Excellence Awardgiven to ten songs that balance popularity and artistryat the ‘67th Shines! Japan Record Awards’. Among the ten awardees, ‘Almond Chocolate’ was the only work by an overseas artist.

ILLIT is currently promoting actively with its first single album, ‘Not Cute Anymore (NOT CUTE ANYMORE)’. As they continue to appear on various music shows and variety programs and gain popularity, they will take the stage on the 13th on MBC 'Show! Music Core'.
