Will Girls’ Generation’s first wedding march ring out?

Actor Byun Yo-han and Tiffany Young, an actor formerly of Girls’ Generation, have confirmed they are dating. Byun Yo-han’s agency Teamhop told Sports Kyunghyang on the 13th, “The two actors are currently in a serious relationship with marriage in mind.”

They added, “There is no specifically confirmed schedule yet, but both actors have conveyed their wish to let fans know first the moment their intentions are set,” and asked, “Please bless them with prayers that grace and love will be with the two in their future.”

With this, another star couple has been born in Girls’ Generation. It draws particular attention because it is premised on marriage. Previously, Yoona, Yuri, Taeyeon, and others had public relationships, but the only current official couple is Sooyoung, who has been in a long-term relationship of over 10 years with actor Jung Kyung-ho.

In 2014, Sooyoung and Jung Kyung-ho revealed that they had been dating since 2012, and they have maintained a sweet relationship by mentioning each other on various variety shows and by posting photos together on social networking services (SNS). However, regarding marriage, Jung Kyung-ho said briefly in a 2023 interview, “We’ll do it when the time comes. Nothing has been finalized.”

Accordingly, there is anticipation over whether Tiffany Young, who officially disclosed both the relationship and the ‘marriage premise’, will become Girls’ Generation’s first married member. The prospect of a ceremony where the members gather in one place also draws attention.

Debuting in 2007, Girls’ Generation have maintained the team despite members changing agencies and transitioning into acting. Tiffany Young also changed her stage name from Tiffany to Tiffany Young in 2018 and announced a new start as an actor, yet she has continued to interact with the memberstaking part in ‘Forever 1’ and, recently, appearing on Hyoyeon’s YouTube channel.

Attention is also focused on the path Tiffany Young and Byun Yo-han will take as an actor couple. The two met on Disney+’s ‘Uncle Samsik’, released last year, and became romantically involved. Having worked together as a couple on screen, they said in interviews for the project at the time, “I was a fan of Byun Yo-han, and seeing him on set felt like encountering a unicorn,” and “On set, I relied a lot on Tiffany.”

After debuting with a short film in 2011, Byun Yo-han has worked steadily, delivering intense performances in tvN’s ‘Misaeng’ and ‘Mr. Sunshine’, and in the film ‘Hansan: Rising Dragon’. He is currently awaiting the release of the film ‘Tazza: Song of Beelzebub’.
