On the 13th, Poppin Hyun-joon announced via his social media that he intends to resign from his professorship in the Department of Practical Dance at Baekseok Arts University. He bowed his head, saying, “As an educator, through inappropriate words and actions I created a stern atmosphere, and, contrary to my intent, I made students feel sexual humiliation; I deeply reflect on that.”
While admitting wrongdoing, Poppin Hyun-joon also explained, “There was never any impure intent.” He further stated, “Accordingly, I will resign from my professorship in the Department of Practical Dance at Baekseok Arts University as a matter of responsibility. Thank you for everything. I once again offer my deepest apology to the students.”
This situation erupted after a disclosure by Student A, who is currently enrolled at the university. Student A stated on social media, “The professor repeatedly used profanity and shouted during class, creating a threatening atmosphere, and when I raised the issue, he instead made remarks that caused sexual humiliation,” triggering an uproar.
