Broadcaster Hong Jin-kyung candidly opened up about the study methods of her daughter, Rael, and her concerns about education.
On the 14th, the YouTube channel ‘NoFilter TV’ uploaded a video titled “Knock, knock at true-genius Sister Hong Jin-kyung’s home! A room tour that turned into even more chatting than house touring.” In the video, Kim Na-young visited Hong Jin-kyung’s home, they looked around together and chatted naturally, and particular interest arose when the study room of Rael was revealed.
When the two reached the study room, the wide view unfolding beyond the floor-to-ceiling windows prompted Kim Na-young to exclaim, “Rael will study well here.” However, Hong Jin-kyung drew laughter by saying, “I have never once seen her study here. She does nail care here and only those odd decorative diary things.”

Hong Jin-kyung also shared worries about educating her child. She said, “I need to have her do Gitan Math. As I raise her, I have noticed kids make many mistakes in calculation. I have Rael study so that even calculations are solved mechanically.” She then showed math workbooks of Rael lined up on the shelf, already full of traces of being solved repeatedly. Hong Jin-kyung explained, “She has already solved this several times,” adding, “At about this level, kids solve systems of equations even in their sleep.”
When Kim Na-young asked, “Do you scold Rael?” Hong Jin-kyung answered, “It seems a little different depending on my mood.” Kim then advised, “They say that is what you should avoid most. I have heard parenting attitudes need to be consistent.”
Meanwhile, Hong Jin-kyung’s daughter Rael is known to be currently studying abroad. On the same channel, Rael shared an update: “I attend school overseas. I recently went to a boarding school,” and when the production team said, “We heard you hit the top in math,” Hong Jin-kyung added, “She was placed in a special math class but turned it down.”
