It has been confirmed that a total of six complaints·accusations related to comedian Park Na-rae have been filed with the police.
At a regular press briefing held on the 15th, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency stated, “There are five cases in which Park Na-rae has been named as the accused in complaints·accusations, and one case filed by her side.”
According to the police, all five cases in which Park has been accused are under investigation at the Gangnam Police Station, and the main allegations include aggravated assault and violations of the Medical Service Act. Regarding the so-called ‘injection auntie’, they said, “It was only just received, so the complainant·accuser has not been questioned,” while adding that they plan to investigate fairly and sternly in accordance with procedure.
Earlier, Park became embroiled in several controversies following revelations by former managers. The former managers filed a complaint accusing Park of aggravated injury, and reportedly filed a criminal complaint under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment, etc. of Specific Economic Crimes, alleging she used company funds for personal purposes for her ex-boyfriend, among others. They also raised claims of workplace bullying, verbal abuse, and unpaid hosting fees.
In response, on the 6th her side filed a countersuit against the former managers on extortion charges, and that case is under investigation at Yongsan Police Station.
Allegations have also been raised that Park received illegal medical procedures and proxy prescriptions from an individual known as the ‘injection auntie’. It has been reported that a complaint was filed with the Gangnam Police Station via the National Petition Portal, accusing Park, the ‘injection auntie’, and the former managers of violations of the Narcotics Control Act and the Medical Service Act·Pharmaceutical Affairs Act.
As the controversy spiraled, her side announced a suspension of broadcasting activities. Park stated, “Thinking that I can no longer cause trouble for programs and colleagues, I will suspend broadcasting activities until everything is resolved cleanly.”
