SBS ‘Taxi Driver 3’
The fourth villain of ‘Taxi Driver 3,’ Jang Nara, is finally making her move.
The SBS FridaySaturday drama ‘Taxi Driver 3’ (written by Oh Sang-ho, directed by Kang Bo-seung) on the 15th unveiled a special poster for Jang Nara, who will carry on the ‘villain hotspot’ title following Sho Kasamatsu, Yoon Si-yoon, and Um Moon-suk.
In last week’s broadcast of ‘Taxi Driver 3,’ actor Um Moon-suk appeared as the third villain, playing ‘Cheon Gwang-jin,’ an inhuman criminal who commits all manner of evil, including illegal gambling, match-fixing, murder, and immoral crimes, delivering a spine-chilling performance.
Along with this, Episode 8 of ‘Taxi Driver 3’ recorded a peak rating of 15.6%, 12.9% in the Seoul metropolitan area, and 12.3% nationwide, ranking first not only in its time slot but also among all miniseries aired during the week. In the 20-49 demographic, it posted 4.1% with a peak of 5.19%, seizing No. 1 across all programs on all channels in December.
Amid this, a special poster for Jang Nara, making a special appearance as the fourth villain ‘Kang Ju-ri,’ has been unveiled, drawing focused attention. Kang Ju-ri, a talent agency CEO who came from a girl group, hides a twisted inner self and greed behind the face of a successful businesswoman; it is the first villain role in Jang Nara’s filmography. Before the first broadcast, a ‘silhouette poster’ hinted at Jang Nara’s appearance and drew buzz. With unusually high viewer interest, expectations are rising for the Jang Narastyle villain now finally unmasked.
In the released poster, Jang Nara exudes a chilling aura never seen before. An icy chill like frost flows from the gaze fixed somewhere off-screen, and the faintly upturned corners of her mouth suggest cunning. The look even evokes a ‘witch’like atmosphere. Curiosity is mounting over what kind of performance Jang Nara will deliver in her first-ever villain role since debut, and what kind of synergy will erupt when she comes face to face with taxi hero Lee Je-hoon (as Kim Do-gi).
Regarding this, the ‘Taxi Driver 3’ team hinted, “The upcoming Episodes 9 and 10 will be episodes that take precise aim at the exploitation, power abuse, and corruption hidden behind K-POP’s glittering success,” and added, “We are reassured that actress Jang Nara, who has been reborn as a ‘trustworthy actor’ through her diverse filmography, is lending strength to the work; her transformation into a powerful villain, overturning her previous kind and upright image, will be a fresh viewing point. Please look forward to it.”
Meanwhile, ‘Taxi Driver 3’ is a private revenge-for-hire drama in which the shrouded taxi company Rainbow Transport and taxi driver Kim Do-gi complete vengeance on behalf of wronged victims. Episode 9 is scheduled to air at 9:50 p.m. on the 19th.
