Bankable leading actor Ahn Bo-hyun returns in 2026 with the first romantic comedy on tvN, ‘Spring Fever’.

Set to premiere on January 5, 2026, the new tvN MondayTuesday drama ‘Spring Fever’ (directed by Park Won-guk / written by Kim A-jeong / planned by CJ ENM STUDIOS / produced by Bon Factory) is a hot! pink springtime romance that will melt even frozen hearts, between Yoon Bom (played by Lee Joo-bin), a teacher as biting as a cold wind, and Seon Jae-gyu (played by Ahn Bo-hyun), a man with a burning heart.

Ahn Bo-hyun meets viewers as Seon Jae-gyu, a person of interest who sets the village abuzz with outlandish behavior. Despite his large build and a rough first impression that recalls the back alleys, Jae-gyu possesses the unexpected charm of passionate, steadfast devotion, and after meeting Yoon Bom, he begins to sway like a spring breeze.

As curiosity grows over how he will embody Seon Jae-gyu, an all-out, charge-ahead alpha male, Ahn Bo-hyun today (the 15th) shared his thoughts on taking on ‘Spring Fever’.

Regarding why he chose the project, he said, “I was drawn to the charm of the character ‘Seon Jae-gyu,’ who speaks in dialect, and I found the fast-paced story fun” and “The scenery and atmosphere set in a seaside town were beautiful, and since my hometown is Busan, I also felt confident about performing in dialect,” he shared candidly.

On the character Seon Jae-gyu, Ahn Bo-hyun defined him as, “A straight shooter who does not budge when Bom pushes him away, and when she pulls, he rushes right in and leaves you at a loss” and added, “He may look tough on the outside and even scare someone, but inside he is warmer than anyone and cannot stand injustice. I find his honest and cute sides charming,” expressing special affection for the character.

Ahn Bo-hyun also shared the physical work he put in: “Because Jae-gyu needed an imposing aura and build, I trained consistently whether there was a shoot or not, and I even brought workout gear like dumbbells to set to build my body whenever I had a moment.”

For three keywords that best capture ‘Seon Jae-gyu,’ Ahn Bo-hyun picked ‘Energy (Jae-gyu),’ ‘Devoted love (Bom),’ and ‘Doting uncle (Han-gyeol).’ Finally, he added, “From the scorching summer to the cold winter, everyone had fun filming in Pohang.
