Professor Seo Kyung-duk of Sungshin Women's University called out the reality of consumption without fair compensation.

On the 23rd, Seo pointed out that in China, Season 2 of the ‘Netflix’(Netflix) series ‘Black-and-White Chef: Culinary Class War’ is being watched illegally. On the largest review site in China, ‘Douban’(Douban), a review page for the program has already been created. As of the morning of the 23rd, around 70 reviews and around 370 star ratings had been posted.

China is a region where Netflix is not officially available. Seo also noted that during Season 1, about 9,500 reviews were posted on Douban.

At the time, the video platform ‘Tencent Video’(Tencent Video) of the Chinese IT company ‘Tencent’(Tencent) produced a variety show with a format similar to ‘Black-and-White Chef’ titled ‘Ipanpeongsyeon’, which also sparked controversy.

Seo emphasized, “Illegal viewing in China has become routine” and “Chinese authorities must focus on cracking down on the illegal acts of their citizens.”
