Hyeri, who has entered another heyday, makes 2026 even more anticipated.
2025 was a year of rediscovering Hyeri. In the mystery girl-thriller drama STUDIO X+U ‘Competition of Goodwill’, Hyeri transformed into Yu Jae-i, a top 0.1% high school student who hides a secret behind a perfect exterior, breaking away from her existing image to project fierce charisma and earning rave reviews from viewers. Through this, she not only expanded her acting range but also led to successful results both domestically and internationally.
On the back of the success of ‘Competition of Goodwill’, which put her at the center of the global spotlight, Hyeri took the stage in ten cities across Asia with the ‘2025 HYERI FANMEETING TOUR ’ and held solo fan meetings ‘Leading Lady of Life’ in four Chinese cities, proving her singular presence.
Hyeri’s compelling performance and soaring popularity were also proven at multiple awards ceremonies. She won the Upbit Popular Star Award at the ‘4th Blue Dragon Series Awards’, the Best Couple Award at the ‘16th Korea Drama Awards’ (with Jung Soo-bin), and the Best Actress award at ‘AAA 2025’ in succession. In addition, at the ‘34th Buil Film Awards’, she captured both Best New Actress and Female Star of the Year for last year’s film ‘Victory’, earning the honor of a double win.
Hyeri’s 2026 is also set to be filled with a tireless streak of work across the big screen, the small screen, and variety.
First, in the project ‘Tropical Night’, which captures the hottest 24 hours of those who throw themselves in to survive in Bangkok, a city whose heat does not cool even at night, Hyeri takes on a new genre as Ari, a former K-pop girl group leader who is now working as a pole dancer at a Walking Street club in Bangkok, Thailand.
Hyeri will also return to romantic comedy for the first time in about five years since tvN ‘A Heart-Stopping Cohabitation’ with the Genie TV original drama ‘Dream to You’, slated to air in 2026. Transforming into Joo I-jae, a working reporter who combines passion and skill and a woman who staggers with regret over her past, Hyeri is set to deliver butterflies through a reunion romance with Hwang In-yeop (as Woo Soo-bin).
Her activity in variety shows is also drawing anticipation. With tvN ‘Reply 1988 10th Anniversary’, which premiered last Friday (the 19th), she showcased her unchanged chemistry with the Reply 1988 family, capturing both fun and emotion. Next up, season 2 of the Netflix adventure mystery variety show ‘Mystery Investigation Team’ is set for release in 2026.
With Hyeri proving yet another heyday across genres, attention is focused on what new records she will write in 2026.
