The film ‘If We’ directed by Kim Do-young has risen to No. 2 in the advance booking rate, overtaking ‘Zootopia 2’.

According to the Korean Film Council integrated computer network for movie theater admissions, ‘If We’, which is scheduled to open on the 31st, recorded an advance booking rate of 10% as of 2 p.m. on the 28th, placing it second after ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ (54.1%) directed by James Cameron.

This is the second-highest among all films and surpasses the 9.3% of the Disney animation ‘Zootopia 2’, which has drawn more than 7 million moviegoers nationwide. There is interest in whether the romance genre can gain traction at the end of the year box office, with attention on how it trends after release.

‘If We’ is a remake of the Chinese film ‘Us and Them’ and is a romance in which Eun-ho (Koo Kyo-hwan) and Jung-won (Moon Ga-young), who met by chance in their twenties ten years ago and nurtured their love, meet again by chance in their thirties and look back on their past relationship.

Praised for the two leads chemistry and realistic depiction of emotions, it is being called the ‘2025 version of Architecture 101’. Directed by Kim Do-young of ‘Kim Ji-young, Born 1982’, ‘If We’ opens in theaters nationwide on the 31st.
