Actor Cha Ju-wan unveiled a photo spread and interview that capture his personal history and distinctive atmosphere through the January issue of the fashion magazine W Korea.
In the photos, Cha Ju-wan clearly conveys the firm attitude born of his years as a school soccer player and his present as an actor. From casual outerwear to vintage-tinged styling, he pulls off a range of looks, creating a unique mood together with a soccer ball that holds his childhood memories. A hairstyle reminiscent of Shoot-dori adds character to this pictorial.
In the interview released with the pictorial, Cha Ju-wan looked back on the 12 years he spent as a student soccer player and said, “I had many injuries, and through dorm life I naturally learned how relationships between people work. Thanks to those years, tact and courtesy became ingrained in me, and it was a time that made me solid as who I am now.”
When asked what prompted him to start acting, he said, “While playing soccer, I always had the thought ‘How long can I keep doing this?’” and continued, “When I decided to quit, I wanted to try it without help from my parents, so I worked part-time and prepared for profile photos. It was not easy, but I wanted to prove myself to some extent.”

Regarding the drama ‘Love Supremacy Zone’, considered the work that made him known, he said, “Because I had been rejected once at the audition, I wanted it even more,” and explained, “As the character was a former athlete, it resonated with me emotionally, and I was able to bring out the feeling of loneliness with relative honesty.” He added, “I did not expect the response to carry over overseas, and my sense of responsibility grew accordingly.” Finally, when asked what he tells himself most often these days, he answered, “Do not doubt,” and continued, “I heard it from Coach Gu Ja-cheol on ‘You Have to Unite to Kick’, and once I held onto that sentence, I felt a bit more at ease even when I played. In acting too, rather than pushing myself too hard, I plan to trust myself and move forward,” sharing his New Year resolution.
