The group Identity is returning as a 15-member act by adding eight members of the second unit Yesweare to the seven from the already-debuted first unit Younevermet. Having touted an overwhelming mega performance, can they shake up the K-pop landscape?

On the 5th, at Blue Square SOL Travel Hall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, a showcase and press conference were held to mark the release of Identity’s second unit Yesweare’s new album ‘Yesweare’(yesweare). All 15 members of Identity Towa, Lee Gyu-hyeok, Park Nu-ri, Kim Seong-jun, Han Ye-jun, Choi Gyeong-bin, Hwang Eun-su, Kim Do-hoon, Kim Hee-ju, Choi Tae-in, Lee Jae-yeong, Kim Ju-ho, Nam Ji-un, Lee Hwan-hee, and Lee Cheong-myeong attended and discussed the record and their team identity.

First unit, Younevermet.

‘Yesweare’ is the second unit of Identity, which is planned as a 24-member group, with eight new members added to the first unit Younevermet, which released its first mini album last August. At the time of release, Younevermet’s album recorded over 330,000 first-week sales, earning praise for reshaping the music scene.

Buoyed by the results of their initial activities, the members expressed strong determination for an even better second round. Kim Do-hoon said, “As a large-member group, there were challenges in syncing up, but once that was completed and the team became one, even I felt overwhelmed,” adding, “The mega performance that a large lineup delivers is our team’s strength.”

Lee Cheong-myeong also presented the direction for this promotion, saying, “Identity’s identity is diversity. With many people gathered, each has a different character, and we plan to move forward so those facets can be clearly seen.”

Second unit, Yesweare.

This album shares the second unit’s name, ‘Yesweare’. The title track ‘Pretty Boy Swag’(Pretty Boy Swag) is an appealing song with a powerful blend of bass, electric guitar, and brass, and the album contains a total of five tracks, including ‘Boys’(BOYS), ‘Yes We Are’(Yes We Are), the electronic dance music-based ‘Rage Problem’(Rage Problem), and the jacking house track ‘Moon Burn’(Moon Burn).

Regarding this promotion, Kim Ju-ho said, “I think each of our colors must be convincing from the public’s perspective for them to resonate. I want to find my own color so we can become beloved artists. I want to become an all-rounder who can do anything well.”

Nam Ji-un said, “This time, I want to achieve twice the first-week record of ‘Younevermet’ (660,000 copies), and I also really want to win first place on a music show.”

Kim Seong-jun hinted, “Even aside from 15-member activities, we’re preparing stages just for the eight-member Yesweare unit. We’ll work to meet you in even more diverse ways going forward.”
