Three of the entertainment industry’s representative single moms announced a special house-sharing arrangement.
The production presentation for KBS1 ‘Let’s Live Together with Hwang Shin-hye’ was held on the 6th at KBS Art Hall in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. Hwang Shin-hye, Jang Yoon-jung, Jung Ga-eun, and CP Lee Sun-hee attended.
Premiering at 7:40 p.m. on the 7th, KBS ‘Let’s Live Together with Hwang Shin-hye’ captures the stories of leading single moms in entertainment who, after divorce, have raised their children alone while shouldering both livelihood and childcare. Hwang Shin-hye takes over as host from Park Won-sook, who led the program for seven years, and Jang Yoon-jung and Jung Ga-eun join her, hinting at an earnest ‘living together’.

CP Lee explained, “It’s a program beloved by the middle-aged audience over seven years. We deliberated a lot about how to carry on this valuable IP,” adding, “We didn’t simply plan the new season by swapping out and tinkering with the cast. We even considered turning it into a full-on variety show and starting again from zero. But the reason we ultimately returned to ‘Let’s Live Together’ is that the power of authenticity and naturalness is strong.”
He continued, “As we pondered what fits the trends of this era, we thought a show that can present the cast’s authenticity would be meaningful. We decided to reclaim the authenticity that Ms. Park Won-sook and Ms. Hye Eun-yi had previously shown, and we came to present the deep joys, sorrows, and concerns held by single moms.”
The revamped ‘Let’s Live Together’ brings together the ‘original beauty’ Hwang Shin-hye, former Miss Korea Jang Yoon-jung, and Jung Ga-eun, who has shown strong grit since becoming a single moma lineup not easily gathered in one place.

Asked about the casting backstory, CP Lee said, “The production team staked everything to persuade them,” hinting at the trio’s exceptional chemistry.
He said, “We ‘highly recommend’ watching the premiere. It captures how these three blend into one another within a single day of their first meeting. Because their life trajectories and ups and downs align, they came to understand each other deeply in an instant,” adding, “From the first episode, you can see them exchanging comfort and empathy. I watched the edit and burst out laughing every time, and I also shed tears.”
In fact, the three heaped praise on the tteokguk and old pumpkin jeon they cooked during filming, while engaging in lively banter: “Shin-hye made way too much tteokgukshe boiled a whole pot,” and “Gaeun’s pumpkin jeon wasn’t tasty at first, but later the seasoning was just right,” forecasting the friendly rapport they will show on air.

Returning to reality entertainment for the first time in about ten years, Hwang Shin-hye said, “As I get older, I think I’m becoming less fearful. As a single mom, I’ve gained the ease to unpack the various experiences and life stories I’ve accumulated, with the feel of a big sister,” explaining why she decided to appear.
She added, “I’m honored to take the baton of a program that senior Park Won-sook wrapped up so splendidly. I intend to be honest and relaxed, just as I am. I’m grateful that the three of us mesh well.”
Jang Yoon-jung, seen as the ‘hidden card,’ is returning to variety after a full two decades. CP Lee further asked, “Please look forward to a side of Jang Yoon-jung you couldn’t have imagined, one you can see only on our show.”

Jang said, “I’ve been away from the entertainment industry for a long time. I thought I might be hiding too much. Becoming a single mom also made me withdraw. I wanted to show my daughters a healthy, spirited mom,” explaining why she returned to TV.
She continued, “I couldn’t sleep the night before the shoot and was worried, but even though it was my first time seeing the two of them at the first shoot, I somehowfelt very comfortable,” conveying their unusual chemistry, and added, “I used to be a glamorous Miss Korea and entertainer, but I’ve spent a very long time living as the mother of two daughters. I have a lot of household know-how I want to share. I want to approach viewers comfortably, like a neighborly big sister.”

Jung Ga-eun, said to be the ‘youngest’ doted on by the older ‘sisters,’ said, “I’ve lived with the mindset of doing any job given to me, and that mindset only grew stronger as I raised my child. I had no reason to refuse the offer to appear,” adding, “I’m not someone with many comedic elements, so doing variety in the past was hard. This time I told the production team, ‘I’m not a funny person,’ and they said, ‘Show us your sincere self.’ For the first time in a while, I’ve truly found ‘my program.’ I’m honored and grateful to be with the sisters. We’re happily filming.”
As the guest they’d like to invite, they named the previous host Park Won-sook, saying, “She led this program for seven years, and we’re curious how she managed to do it for so long. We’d like to have her on and treat her to something delicious.”
Finally, CP Lee said, “We thought about what would differentiate this from the previous run. During filming, Jang Yoon-jung said, ‘When we talk about moms and daughters, there’s no playbook for us.’ It’s a show the 30-59 generation can all relate to,” adding, “Even if you ponder what it means to live together, it’s nothing special. Producing this show, we learn that it’s about opening your heart, talking, leaning on each other, and living well. If our show is a four-person dining table, the remaining seat is for the viewers. I believe those who watch will take that feeling with them.”
