On ‘Jung Seung-Je Boarding House,’ math instructor Jung Seung-Je hears a Saju reading that says “It seems you will get married in your 50s,” then suddenly goes off, delivering bittersweet laughs.

Episode 7 of the tcast E Channel variety program ‘Beat Up Life: Jung Seung-Je Boarding House’ (hereafter ‘Jung Seung-Je Boarding House’), airing at 8 p.m. on the 7th, shows ‘twenties-puberty’ boarders newly checking in, along with a heartwarming day as new and old boarders all join forces for ‘kimjang.’

Previously, Dong-Hyeon, a Harvard Mathematics student on leave, and Hyeon-Jun, a former basketball player now a security guard, joined as ‘New Boarders’ and introduced themselves. On this day, ‘the boarding house management’Jung Seung-Je, Jung Hyung-Don, and Han Sun-Hwabegin assigning rooms. At that moment, Jung says, “Dong-Hyeon can room with me. Let’s start by working on teaching materials~,” sending a love call that makes everyone burst into laughter. Han Sun-Hwa cracks up at Jung’s scouting pitch to recruit Dong-Hyeon, asking, “Is he already staff?”

After finishing room assignments, everyone spends an enjoyable time sweating it out on the court with Hyeon-Jun, the ex-basketball player. Right after, they have an after-party at a restaurant. Looking at Dong-Hyeon, Jung Hyung-Don says, “If a kid who was doing well at Harvard suddenly said he was going to study vocal music, I think his parents would be shocked. Shouldn’t you get a fortune reading sometime, to see if you have a restless fate?” Then Dong-Hyeon says, “Actually, I earned a certification in Saju (Four Pillars of Destiny), so I know how to read fortunes,” perking up everyone’s ears.

With the ‘Harvard fortune parlor’ open, Jung Seung-Je asks, “I am curious about my marriage luck. Tell me whether I will get married.” After seriously reading Jung’s Saju, Dong-Hyeon interprets, “Teacher, are you not rather stubborn? You have a style that pushes women away. In 2026, a bigger fortune comes in; it could be money, or it could be a woman.” To this, Jung Hyung-Don worries, “Our boss (Jung Seung-Je) does not need money,” and Dong-Hyeon adds again, “Your marriage could be delayed. Around your 50s?” leaving Jung reeling. In the end, Jung abruptly snaps, “Were you burned by a woman?” and the scene erupts.

The next day, three new boarders come to the house: Seo-Ha, who finished service as an Army first lieutenant and is now preparing to become a certified labor attorney; Na-Yun, a 21-year-old pizza shop owner up from Jeju; and Se-Min, ‘unemployed,’ who came up from Daegu. They fill the house with fresh energy. All of them confess to being true fans of Jung Seung-Je, and in particular Na-Yun says one of her bucket list items is, “that Teacher Jung Seung-Je knows I exist,” eliciting Jung Hyung-Don’s genuine reaction, “That is a bit scary.” Nevertheless, Na-Yun lavishes praise, saying, “Teacher Seung-Je looks much better in person,” which puts a satisfied smile on Jung’s face. Once the boarders going through ‘twenties-puberty’ finish checking in, Jung Seung-Je, Jung Hyung-Don, and Han Sun-Hwa proclaim ‘Kimjang Day.’
