Actress Hwang Jung-eum has reportedly been notified by her agency of the termination of her exclusive contract.
On the 8th, Y One Entertainment issued a statement, saying, “Y One Entertainment notified Hwang Jung-eum on November 27, 2025, of the termination of her exclusive contract, and the notice was accepted, so the exclusive contract between both parties has already ended.”
It added, “Accordingly, we clearly state that we have no involvement in or responsibility for any of Hwang Jung-eum’s current or future activities, personal matters, or related issues, and we will not issue any further statements or responses regarding this matter going forward.”
As of the 8th, Hunminjeongeum Entertainment, a family corporation in which Hwang Jung-eum holds a 100% stake, remained unregistered for the pop culture and arts management business.
Hwang Jung-eum embezzled 4.3 billion won from the corporation and, in the first-instance ruling last May, was sentenced to two years in prison, suspended for four years. She was brought to trial last year on charges that, over about a year from 2022, she withdrew 4.34 billion won from Hunminjeongeum Entertainment, which she had founded, as advances, and used about 4.2 billion won of it for cryptocurrency investments and personal card payments.
After it emerged that her personal entertainment agency remained unregistered for the pop culture and arts management business, Y One Entertainment, known as her original agency, swiftly issued its statement.
