Ahn Seong-jae revealed the story behind his deformed finger.
On the 10th, a video titled ‘Is this… paradise…? The first public review of [Black-and-White Chef Season 2] together with a full table of temple cuisine made with Venerable Seonjae I Black-and-White 2 Review’ was uploaded to the YouTube channel ‘Chef Ahn Seong-jae’.
In the video, Ahn Seong-jae went to meet Venerable Seonjae, who had appeared on ‘Black-and-White Chef 2’ as a White Spoon. He first expressed his thanks to Venerable Seonjae for agreeing to the invitation.
Looking at Ahn Seong-jae’s hand, Venerable Seonjae suddenly asked, “But why is one of your fingers like that?” Ahn’s right middle finger remained bent even when he fully extended his hand.
In response, Ahn said calmly, “It is not just one finger; when I was young, while playing with my older brother, my finger was severed,” and “Because it was severed and there was a risk of infection, the hospital said to cut it off, but my mother did not allow it. We were in Gangwon Province at the time, and I was told she held onto it and took a taxi for three hours to get it reattached.”
Venerable Seonjae, while feeling sorry, said, “Still, it is admirable. You do all your cooking with that hand.”
