Lee Je-hoon’s Taxi Driver wrapped up operations.
In the finale of SBS’s ‘Taxi Driver 3’ aired on the 10th, Yoo Seon-a (Jeon So-ni) learns of Colonel Kim Tae-won’s (Kim Jin-wook) scheme to strap bomb vests onto the unit, send them to the North Korean threshold, detonate them, and pin the blame on the North.
On the day of the operation, Yoo Seon-a tries to save the members of her unit. After making everyone disembark, she drives off alone, seizes the bomb vest, and heads to the military prosecutors, but Kim Tae-won blocks her way and tries to coax her. Remembering Kim Do-gi’s words to think of her own life first, she hesitates, but in the end runs off carrying all the explosives.

Yoo Seon-a records the information she found on a body cam and hides it somewhere Kim Do-gi can find it. Ultimately, Yoo Seon-a dies with the explosives, and after confirming the blast, Kim Tae-won orders that she be branded a spy and demoted three ranks.
Park Jae-won (Kim Seo-ha), who learns the truth of Yoo Seon-a’s death along with Kim Do-gi, says he will help take revenge, and Kim Do-gi (Lee Je-hoon) says, “With people who don’t respond to common sense like that, the only option is to respond with methods that aren’t common sense either,” and calls Rainbow Taxi.

Back in the present, Kim Do-gi infiltrates the military base and introduces the Rainbow Taxi members, who were arrested by Kim Tae-won, as ecological survey specialists. Kim Tae-won points out Rainbow Taxi’s attire and behavior, but they make plausible excuses. And when Kim Tae-won questions him, Kim Do-gi smiles and says, “That’s classified.”
An angry Kim Tae-won gets a call from Director Cho Sang-hoon. Director Cho backs up Kim Do-gi, asking if the people he sent have arrived and to help them out.

Rainbow Taxi claims there’s a golden eagle’s nest atop a utility pole, shuts down power to the base, and steals the information they need in their own way. Ahn Go-eun hands documents to Kim Do-gi, and Kim Do-gi learns that because of Sergeant Yoo, the commander plans to attempt the failed operation again.
Kim Tae-won reports the suspicious Kim Do-gi to Colonel Oh Won-sang (Kim Jong-su). Oh Won-sang orders, “If it’s suspicious, nip it in the bud.” Meanwhile, Ahn Go-eun phones the Military Human Rights Center, says she will come by, and takes the body cam with her. But when she arrives, the center’s door is locked, and men in black appear from somewhere and attack her.

When another man approaches the car and opens the door to grab the body cam, Kim Do-gi, who was hiding, leaps out to stop him. While Kim Do-gi rescues Ahn Go-eun, the man ultimately finds the body cam and hands it to Oh Won-sang, who was sitting in the car. Kim Do-gi is shocked when he sees Oh Won-sang’s face.
In the past, Oh Won-sang summons Kim Do-gi and issues an operational order. Kim Do-gi says that without a return route, the members will die. Oh Won-sang replies, “You don’t have to go. Just send off the ones we picked.” When Kim Do-gi asks if that’s an order, Oh confirms it. After leaving the office, when Yoo Seon-a and Park Jae-won ask what the operation is, Kim Do-gi sends them away, saying the entire unit is getting a reward leave.

In the present, records show that Oh Won-sang was dishonorably discharged for sexual assault and is brewing snake liquor. A civilian, not a soldier, is pulling strings through the military. Oh Won-sang intends to attack the North, start a war, and then declare martial law.
Ahn Go-eun approaches Oh Won-sang, who is meeting with military officers, by posing as a shop clerk and swaps out the body cam. Director Cho Sang-hoon calls Oh Won-sang and says, “They say a golden eagle has been spotted,” to which Oh replies, “There are no golden eagles in Korea.”
On the day of the showdown, the troops don bomb vests, believing they are tactical vests. Oh Won-sang waits to give the order to fire, but the explosives do not go off at the appointed time. When one of Oh’s subordinates demands over the radio why they aren’t opening fire, a soldier replies, “We can’t open fire on civilians,” and says they will withdraw.

Police motorcycles, civilians, and a box truck enter the operation site. Seeing this, Oh Won-sang says, “What does it matter,” and orders them to switch to remote control. His subordinate blocks him, saying, “There are civilians out there,” but the enraged Oh Won-sang eventually presses the fire button.
What shoots into the sky are not shells but fireworks. As fireworks burst and the box truck opens, a guerrilla concert by Elements kicks off in Zone B24. Rainbow Taxi hands out light sticks to the crowd that has gathered to see Elements. Each time Oh Won-sang presses the bomb fire button, fireworks keep going off. People wave their light sticks and enjoy the music. Jang Sung-chul (Kim Eui-sung) says, “Those people just saved us.”

While Rainbow Taxi watches the concert, Director Cho Sang-hoon arrives. Cho says, “Master Sergeant Park Jae-won went through a lot swapping the shells for fireworks,” then asks, “By the way, do fireworks usually need that many?” Kim Do-gi smiles and says, “We didn’t know how many shells he’d try to set off.”
Realizing the operation has failed, the military officers try to wash their hands of it, leaving Oh Won-sang in the barracks as they flee. Just then, military prosecutors block their path and aim their guns. Stepping out of the car, Park Jae-won says, “Alright, generals, we’re placing you all under arrest.” The military police arrest the generals.

After gauging the situation outside, Oh Won-sang slips away. Rainbow Taxi heads to where he is, and Oh rams the car carrying Manager Choi, Manager Park, and Ahn Go-eun. Kim Do-gi rescues his teammates from the overturned vehicle.
Then Oh Won-sang gets out of his car with a gun, shouting as he opens fire. Oh rages, “This was an operation to save the country from crisis,” and Jang Sung-chul asks, “Isn’t the problem that someone claiming to save the nation treats the very people living in it as less than bugs?” but Oh doesn’t care.
Kim Do-gi runs toward Oh Won-sang as he fires and takes a bullet in the arm. As he closes in on the threatening Oh, he takes another bullet in the abdomen. Oh aims his gun at Kim Do-gi’s head. Kim Do-gi grabs Oh Won-sang and says, “We will never lose to the likes of you.” The gun between them goes off, but it isn’t clear which way it fired. The two plunge together off a cliff. Kim Do-gi and Oh Won-sang fall into the river, and Rainbow Taxi breaks down in tears as they look over the cliff.

Ahn Go-eun has a dream. In it, the Rainbow Taxi members ask whether they would have met if the incident had never happened, and say they would have met somehow. Ahn Go-eun wakes up in tears. Manager Park and Manager Choi worry about her. Kim Do-gi is nowhere to be seen at Rainbow Taxi, and a certain loneliness hangs in the air.
A rich madam screams for a contract killer to be found. Her secretary says he thinks he’s found one, and the two head into a mountain valley. Spotting a taxi, the secretary says he’ll go ask and approaches a place stacked with ceramics. There is Kim Do-gi. The secretary is startled to see a human leg inside a kiln, but soon says, “We’ve been looking for someone like you.”
When the madam comes looking for her absent secretary, she changes her attitude after seeing Kim Do-gi’s looks. Kim Do-gi smiles at her, Jang Sung-chul is in the underground office, Ahn Go-eun is in the vehicle communications room, and Manager Choi and Manager Park are making pottery inside the ceramics workshop.
