Actor Ji Chang-wook will make a special appearance in the new drama ‘Men of the Harem’.
According to reporting by Sports Kyunghyang on the 15th, Ji Chang-wook will make a surprise appearance in ‘Men of the Harem’ (written by Hwang Jin-young, directed by Lee Eung-bok). Even as a special appearance, he is expected to have a substantial amount of screen time and to project a weighty presence.
‘Men of the Harem’ is a palace romance fantasy based on a popular web novel of the same name, depicting Empress Latil of the Tarium Empire taking male consorts to protect the empire. Lee Eung-bok of ‘Descendants of the Sun’, ‘Goblin’, ‘Mr. Sunshine’, and the ‘Sweet Home’ series serves as director, and writer Hwang Jin-young of ‘Lover’ is in charge of the script.
Suzy has emerged as a potential candidate for the female lead role of Latil, and news continues of casting talks with male actors including Lee Soo-hyuk, Shin Seung-ho, Kim Dan, and Yoo Jung-hoo, raising expectations for a visual feast. As a result, widely regarded as one of the most anticipated projects of the year, the addition of Ji Chang-wook strengthens its bid for global popularity.
Having recently cemented his status as a global star through the Disney+ series ‘Fragment City’, Ji Chang-wook will continue his dazzling filmography this year with the film ‘The Collective’, the Netflix series ‘Scand’, and Disney+ ‘Merry Berry Love’. On top of that, news of his appearance in ‘Men of the Harem’ further heightens expectations among fans worldwide.
