‘Idol Eye’ actor Kim Jae-young asserted a singular presence through unreleased stills that capture his character’s deep inner self.
Four stills revealing the unexpected allure of Kim Jae-young, who is delivering a powerful performance as top star ‘Do Ra-ik’ in the Genie TV original drama ‘Idol Eye’, have been released and are creating a buzz.
The unveiled photos vividly trace Do Ra-ik’s turbulent emotional shifts, from solitary moments born of betrayal by someone he trusted to a firm resolve to pursue the truth, drawing attention.
The first still, paired with a cold atmosphere, conveys the psychological isolation he endures.

After learning that Maeng Sena (played by Choi Soo-young), who had stayed by his side while deceiving him, was an ardent fan, he dismisses her and is left alone.
Without Sena, he complies with a summons from the prosecutor and even declines Hyeju (played by Choi Hee-jin)’s proposal to hire a lawyer, choosing isolation and stirring sympathy.
With a hollow yet sharp gaze, Kim Jae-young delicately portrays the flip side of a wounded figure.
By contrast, the next stills reverse the atmosphere. Realizing the sincerity and joining hands with Sena again, Do Ra-ik examines the accident scene of Jae-hee (played by Park Jung-woo), taking a step closer to the truth.

The scene in which he revisits the ‘wish tree’ he went to with his members at debut and writes a second wish together with Sena is the highlight of this set.
Under warm sunlight, the look on his face as he gazes at the wish card lays bare the pure, warm appeal hidden behind his prickly exterior, setting hearts aflutter.
In the final still, Kim Jae-young’s intense eyes push the tension of the drama to a peak. Along with deep trust in Maeng Sena, his gaze, imbued with firm resolve to capture the real culprit who killed Woo-sung (Ahn Woo-yeon), proves his qualities as a ‘master of the gaze’ and raises expectations for developments to come.
From the dazzling image of an idol to the desperate mindset of pursuing the truth, Kim Jae-young perfectly embodies the complex layers of the character Do Ra-ik.

In the previous episode, Do Ra-ik, stronger after overcoming betrayal, was depicted getting ever closer with Maeng Sena to the essence of the case, greatly heightening curiosity about upcoming broadcasts. Not only viewers but also industry insiders are closely watching what Kim Jae-young will show through the end.
