Voice actor Seon Eun-hye has passed away suddenly.
Seon Eun-hye died on the 17th at age 40. The cause of death has not been disclosed. News of her passing became known after fellow voice actors posted on social networking services (SNS).
She married voice actor Choi Jae-ho (CJ ENM 2nd class), who had been her mentor during her trainee days, and the two had been active as a ‘voice actor couple’. Choi Jae-ho currently serves as chairman of the Korea Voice Actors Association.
Joining as a KBS 36th class voice actor, Seon Eun-hye was a skilled performer who handled a wide range of genres with a broad acting spectrum.
She was familiar to the public for voicing many characters, including ‘Black Rubber Shoes Season 4’ Seong-cheol, ‘Pretty Rhythm’ Mion, ‘Doctor Who’ Amy, and ‘Doctor Foster’ Kate.
Condolences from fellow voice actors continued. Senior voice actor Chae Eui-jin wrote on SNS, “Beautiful junior Eun-hye, rest easy.” Nam Do-hyeong also said, “I will not forget the time we shared.”
The public also joined in mourning. “Her voice was so beautiful; it is hard to believe” “‘Doctor Who’ Amy Pond voice I do not think I will ever forget” “Stay strong, voice actor Choi Jae-ho” expressed sorrow over the sudden news at such a young age.
