Actor Ha Do-kwon ANDMARK
Actor Ha Do-kwon is joining the revival of ‘Swing Days_Codename A’, returning to meet audiences as Hwang Man-yong.
‘Swing Days_Codename A’ is inspired by the true story of independence activist Dr. Yu Il-han, who took part in the Napco Project under the name ‘Codename A’. At its premiere, the work left a deep impression with a weighty message and a solid narrative. This revival signals an even broader emotional arc and a denser story, building on the completeness of the premiere.
Hwang Man-yong, played by Ha Do-kwon, is the childhood friend and business partner of Yu Il-hyeong, a figure who endures the tragedy of the era with strong loyalty and devotion. In the premiere, Ha Do-kwon delicately expressed the humanity and inner conflicts of Hwang Man-yong, earning praise for providing balance to the piece.
In this revival, Jung Sang-hoon, Ha Do-kwon, and Kim Seung-yong, who performed in the premiere, return again to portray Hwang Man-yong. The three were recognized for completing a multidimensional portrayal of the character in distinct ways, and in the revival they plan to unfold the story of Hwang Man-yong even more richly through deeper ensemble chemistry and a seasoned interpretation.
Having shown a powerful presence through dramas ‘Stove League’ and ‘The Penthouse’, Ha Do-kwon has also built his own character on the musical stage, grounded in steady vocals and solid acting. In particular, for this revival of ‘Swing Days_Codename A’, expectations are high that he will deliver emotions and afterglow that run even deeper, based on the character understanding accumulated in the premiere.
The revival of ‘Swing Days_Codename A’ is set to meet audiences again with a newly refined structure and deepened performances by the cast.
The musical ‘Swing Days_Codename A’ will be staged at the Grand Theater of Chungmu Art Center from April 16 to July 5.
