KBS2’s new daily drama ‘Red Pearl’
Actors Park Jin-Hee and Nam Sang-Ji present bold transformations through ‘Red Pearl.’
The production team of KBS2’s new daily drama ‘Red Pearl’ (directed by Kim Sung-Geun / written by Kim Seo-Jung / produced by DK E&M, Monster Union), which is scheduled to premiere on February 23 at 7:50 p.m., has unveiled a mysterious teaser poster that shrouds the identities of the two leads in secrecy.
‘Red Pearl’ is a meticulous and intense chronicle of revenge in which two women who return under false identities expose the hidden sins and truths of the Adel family.
Park Jin-Hee and Nam Sang-Ji play Kim Dan-Hee and Baek Jin-Ju, who have lost their families and live while erasing their past selves for revenge. As the tagline ‘Two women who killed themselves for revenge’ suggests, Kim Dan-Hee vows vengeance as she lives in her older sister’s stead, while Baek Jin-Ju makes a radical move by appearing with a new identity.
The teaser poster released on the 22nd instantly captures attention as heavy shadows fall across Park Jin-Hee and Nam Sang-Ji against an intense red backdrop. Faces obscured in deep darkness symbolically showcase the transformations of the two women who approach the Adel family while hiding their identities.
This fully conveys the weight of the secrets they harbor, further heightening the drama’s tense atmosphere. What are the true faces hidden behind the shadows? Anticipation builds for how the two, swept into the same whirlpool of fate yet unaware of each other’s identities, will reunite at Adel Group and carry out their revenge.
The actors’ bold transformations are also key points to watch. Park Jin-Hee, who has exuded a neat and elegant charm, previews a 180-degree change into a character burning with vengeful resolve, while Nam Sang-Ji, who has mainly taken on confident and bright roles, also draws attention by playing a secretive character whose inner thoughts are unreadable.
‘Red Pearl’ is directed by Kim Sung-Geun, who has showcased stylish direction in numerous works such as ‘Let’s Marry, Maengkkong!’, ‘Crash-Bang Family’, and ‘It’s Beautiful Now’, with the script by writer Kim Seo-Jung, known for her solid writing. On top of that, Park Jin-Hee and Nam Sang-Ji’s dramatic transformations are greatly raising expectations among prospective viewers.
KBS2’s new daily drama ‘Red Pearl’ is set to premiere at 7:50 p.m. on February 23, following ‘Intimate Ripley.’
