TV CHOSUN ‘Miss Trot 4’
‘Miss Trot 4’ Yoon Tae-hwa advanced to Main Round 3.
On the TV CHOSUN broadcast of ‘Miss Trot 4’ on the 22nd, the Main Round 2 1:1 death match unfolded, and a head-to-head between Yoon Tae-hwa and Kim Da-na was arranged, drawing great attention. As 16-year and 17-year active singers, respectively, both possessed solid skill and deep emotion, to the point that even the Masters reacted that “the choice is too difficult,” and a tight contest was anticipated.
Yoon Tae-hwa chose Oh Seung-geun’s ‘Departing, My Dear’ and took the stage. She confessed, “When I first heard this song, I thought of my grandmother and tears welled up,” and continued, “My grandmother gave me so much love. She even dug herbs herself and boiled them because they were good for the throat. But while going to the mountain, there was a car accident, and I had to let her go without even seeing her for the last time. Because of that guilt, I resolved to live even more diligently,” bringing tears to eyes.
Her stage drew deep immersion with a calm beginning. While carefully unfolding the song with restrained emotion, she gradually built up feeling as it moved into the latter half, and at the climax she expressed piercing sorrow and earnest longing as if they were exploding. The emotional line oscillating between restraint and eruption, firm vocal ability, and sincerity in expression came together to complete the stage like a drama.

After the stage, Master Kim Hee-jae said, “In the previous season, you moved us greatly with ‘Dear’, so I thought there would be that kind of emotion on this stage as well. But I found myself thinking, ‘Huh, why is Ms. Yoon Tae-hwa starting to sing so calmly, unlike her?’ Then, as it went into the second verse and toward the climax, through this stage you again showed ‘I am Yoon Tae-hwa.’ I was moved by the deep sensibility and voice that are uniquely yours,” applauding Yoon’s emotion.
Although Yoon Tae-hwa unfortunately lost to Kim Da-na in the duel that day, she left a strong impression with her stage. After Main Round 2 ended, she was selected as the second additional qualifier through the Masters’ review and achieved the feat of advancing to Main Round 3. Even in defeat, the heartfelt performance by Yoon, which yielded a valuable outcome, is expected to be remembered as a representative moving stage of ‘Miss Trot 4’.
Meanwhile, before the full-on showdown, she placed fourth in the third-week national support vote rankings revealed that day, making the Top 5 for three consecutive weeks and showing that she is receiving enthusiastic support and encouragement from the public.
