Belift Lab announced on the 24th that SUNGHOON of the group ENHYPEN will serve as a torchbearer for the ‘2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics,’ which kicks off on the 6th of next month (local time).

He is participating upon the recommendation of Samsung Electronics, an official sponsor of the ‘Milano Cortina Winter Olympics.’ He has deep ties to winter sports. Before his debut, he competed as a reserve member of the national figure skating team, and since last year he has served as a promotional ambassador for the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee, acting as a bridge connecting the public with sports. Equipped with experience as an athlete and influence as an artist, SUNGHOON plans to convey a message of peace and friendship that unites the world through this torch relay.

Including SUNGHOON, only two K-pop artists have ever taken part in an overseas Olympic torch relay. His stature, evidenced by his invitation to a major international event, stands out. Through Belift Lab, SUNGHOON said, “Above all, I am most eager to cheer for the national team athletes whose burning passion and effort I know well, as they have sweated for this Winter Olympics,” and added, “Personally, when I used to train, it was my dream to compete in the Olympics, and I am happy and honored to feel that I have achieved that dream as a singer.”

Meanwhile, ENHYPEN, to which SUNGHOON belongs, enjoys top-tier global popularity on the strength of its distinctive album storytelling and commanding performance skills. Last year, they swept the grand prizes at major music award ceremonies, rising as a ‘new leader of K-pop.’ ENHYPEN’s recently released seventh mini album ‘THE SIN : VANISH’ sold 2.07 million copies in its first week alone, making it the group’s fourth ‘double million seller.’
