KBS2 ‘The Boss Has Donkey Ears’
Jun Hyun-moo revealed why he didn’t do news during his rookie announcer days.
On the 25th, KBS2 ‘The Boss Has Donkey Ears’ will reveal the terrifying first group critique for KBS’s 51st class of rookie announcers. The group critique is a hellish gateway that rookies must pass, where their first news reports are evaluated in front of seniors. Due to the tradition of checking their response to sudden mishaps as well, even Jun Hyun-moo once shook his head, saying he’d rather not remember his rookie-year critique.
Announcer Lee Sang-cheol, often called Jun Hyun-moo’s mini-me; announcer Park Hyo-jin, known as SNU’s NewJeans’ Minji; and rising current-affairs star announcer Shim Su-hyeon make their entrance and draw attention. Watching the rookies, Jun Hyun-moo says, “I deliberately didn’t do news because I worried that if I did news well, I wouldn’t be able to do variety,” adding, “Since I originally spent three years at a news channel, I was afraid they might send me to news.”
Amid this, the video of rookie announcer Lee Sang-cheol’s first citizen interview is unveiled, leaving everyone in stitches. Lee Sang-cheol gets into a tug-of-war over the microphone with a citizen. After successfully holding on to the mic, he gives a smug little shrug toward the camera, making Jun Hyun-moo burst into laughter.
At Lee Sang-cheol’s triumphant look, Jun Hyun-moo says, “This kid is no ordinary one,” then adds, “Look at him not letting the citizen snatch the mic. It’s like he’s looking at the screen to brag, ‘Mom, do I look good?’” As he sharply reads his intentions, Um Ji-in says, “He says he watched all the announcer episodes of ‘The Boss Has Donkey Ears’. So he remembered the advice about not letting the mic be taken,” affirming Lee Sang-cheol’s ambition to become like Jun Hyun-moo.
Hearing this, Jun Hyun-moo says, “So he was looking at the screen to say, ‘Watch ‘The Boss Has Donkey Ears’’,” and, as he gives a meaningful smile at the unpredictable behavior of his would-be protg, Kim Sook, watching, clicks her tongue and says, “The seniors are too scary.”
Will the meeting between the unusual ‘Jun Hyun-moo protg’ Lee Sang-cheol and Jun Hyun-moo actually happen, and will Lee Sang-cheol pass the group critique safely? The answers will be revealed on the main broadcast of ‘The Boss Has Donkey Ears’.
‘The Boss Has Donkey Ears’ airs every Sunday at 4:40 p.m.
