The platform album company NEMOZ Lab (CEO Jeon Su-Jin) announced that in the first-instance lawsuit filed by Muzlive seeking an injunction against patent infringement and unfair competition, all of the plaintiff’s claims were dismissed.
The 63rd Civil Division of the Seoul Central District Court, in a ruling on January 22, 2026, found all of Muzlive’s claims of patent infringement and unfair competition against NEMOZ Lab to be without merit. Accordingly, it ordered the plaintiff to bear the litigation costs. With this decision, NEMOZ Lab, following its Supreme Court patent victory, also prevailed in the civil suit, gaining recognition for the originality of its technology. In the written judgment released on the day of the ruling, the court specified that NEMOZ Lab’s service method, which is based on user account and URL information, is technically different from the plaintiff’s patent that uses device-unique codes. Attorney Son Gwang-Nam of Hyun (LLC) said, “The court dismissed in full not only Muzlive’s patent infringement claims but also its unfair competition claims, thereby making it legally clear that NEMOZ Lab’s service is a model distinct from the plaintiff’s.”
Founded in 2021, NEMOZ Lab is an entertainment technology company that developed the smart album ‘Nemo Album’ using NFC and QR code technologies, providing the K-POP fandom with an innovative music consumption experience. It has partnerships with major entertainment agencies such as SM, YG, JYP, CJ ENM, FNC, and Starship Entertainment, provides services in 240 countries worldwide, and collaborates with more than 100 artist teams. Building on this victory, it plans to accelerate its global market expansion within a more stable business environment.
NEMOZ Lab CEO Jeon Su-Jin stated, “This ruling confirms that we have fostered healthy growth of the platform album market through NEMOZ Lab’s technology and content,” and added, “Going forward, we will concentrate our capabilities on advancing our technology and delivering differentiated services instead of unnecessary legal battles, and we will leap forward as a platform that offers a better experience to global K-POP fans.”
