ENA’s MondayTuesday drama ‘Honor : Their Court’ (directed by Park Geon-ho, written by Park Ga-yeon, planned by KT Studio Genie, produced by How Pictures; hereafter ‘Honor’) is a mystery pursuit drama about three female lawyersYoon Ra-young (Lee Na-young), Kang Shin-jae (Jung Eun-chae), and Hwang Hyun-jin (Lee Chung-ah)who confront the past that has returned as a massive scandal head-on. As the stylish visuals and the actors’ overwhelming aura have been revealed bit by bit, prospective viewers’ expectations have soared to a fever pitch. Ahead of the premiere, Lee Na-young, Jung Eun-chae, Lee Chung-ah, and director Park Geon-ho confidently say, “Once you start, you cannot stop,” and share viewing points to enjoy ‘Honor’ even more fully.
#1. “What choices will be made” The core of the character arc pointed out by Lee Na-young
Lee Na-young, who plays celebrity lawyer ‘Yoon Ra-young,’ the public-facing messenger of L&J (Listen & Join), a law firm specializing in victims of crimes against women, said, “Please focus on the ‘choices’ the three lawyers will face.” She added, “Watch to see what choices Yoon Ra-young, Kang Shin-jae, and Hwang Hyun-jin make as they confront a past that has returned as a massive scandal, and how those choices protect one another.” At the intersection of past wounds and present threats, the judgments and attitudes the characters display are expected to form a core axis of the drama’s tone beyond simple case-solving. Director Park Geon-ho also added, “Rather than rushing to follow the flow of the case, please focus on what decisions the three make and how they push through,” underscoring that ‘choice’ will be the most important emotional throughline running across ‘Honor.’
#2. “A pace that pulls you in as if bewitched” Jung Eun-chae teases killer endings
Jung Eun-chae, who plays ‘Kang Shin-jae,’ the reliable head who holds the center of L&J, described the energy of the work as ‘speed.’ She said, “It is speedy and powerful. Once you start, you keep watching as if under a spell, and the ending of every episode makes you curious about what comes next,” expressing confidence in its strong pull. She also said, “In ‘Honor,’ heat and coolness coexist. You will be able to feel human helplessness and dignity at the same time,” hinting at the birth of a well-made genre piece where emotional temperature layers atop genre tension.
#3. “Compelling characters and stylish visuals” Keywords picked by Lee Chung-ah
Lee Chung-ah, who plays ‘Hwang Hyun-jin,’ a passionate lawyer who moves first with action rather than pushing her head and pen at a desk, chose “compelling characters and cases you cannot take your eyes off” as the keywords for enjoying ‘Honor.’ She said that the way the characters’ inner worlds, each with different charms and personalities, mesh with the flow of the cases builds the narrative densely and doubles the tension. She added, “I tend to value visual aesthetics when watching dramas, and in ‘Honor,’ the emotions that represent the piece are well captured on screen. Those who put weight on the mood of the visuals will be able to enjoy it fully,” adding that visual completeness is also a major viewing element.
#4. “The ensemble of the actors is power” Director Park Geon-ho reveals the ‘kick’ of ‘Honor’
Director Park Geon-ho, who took the helm, cited the three leads as the drama’s biggest ‘kick,’ saying, “The very combination that Lee Na-young, Jung Eun-chae, and Lee Chung-ah have created is already plenty of fun.” Because the characters’ emotions and choices form the core of the narrative, the actors’ chemistry functions as what completes the texture of the drama. He also hinted, “Solid actors such as Yeon Woo-jin, Seo Hyun-woo, and Choi Young-joon will become another axis, changing the air of the cases and adding to the fun.” The tension structure and the ripples of relationships that will form among the key figures are expected to flexibly change the tone of the piece and raise its genre density.
Meanwhile, ENA’s MondayTuesday drama ‘Honor : Their Court’ is based on the Swedish drama of the same name, premieres today (the 2nd) at 10 p.m. on ENA, and will be available on KT Genie TV and Coupang Play.
