Actor Yang Seung-ri will make his Chungmuro debut with the new film by director Jang Hang-jun, ‘The Man Who Lives with the King’.
Released on the 4th, the film ‘The Man Who Lives with the King’ tells the story, set in Cheongnyeongpo in 1457, of a village head who volunteers for exile to revive his village and of a young former king who was deposed and banished.
Yang Seung-ri plays ‘Gicheon Magistrate’, an aide to Prince Geumseong (played by Lee Jun-hyuk), who seeks to restore his nephew Lee Hong-wi (played by Park Ji-hoon) to the throne. Amid a tense progression, he appears as ‘Gicheon Magistrate’ and makes a strong impression, set to stand out as a ‘scene-stealer’.
Yang Seung-ri, who debuted in 2009 with the musical ‘Romeo and Juliet’, has built solid acting chops through numerous musicals, plays, and dramas. In particular, over the past year he showcased a wide spectrum by moving between stage and screen with the play ‘2:22 - A GHOST STORY’, the musical ‘Death Note’, and the Netflix series ‘Trigger’.
Having made his presence felt with every project and left a strong impression on audiences and industry insiders, attention is gathering for the new side he will show through this screen debut.
