Actor Jung Si-A shared her candid thoughts on living together with her father-in-law, actor Baek Yoon-sik.

On the 4th, the YouTube channel ‘Sister-in-law is K.Will’ released a video titled ‘An adolescent son with “eighth-grader syndrome” scarier than father-in-law Baek Yoon-sik.’ In the video, Jung Si-A appeared as a guest and talked about various topics.

K.Will asked Jung, who is sharing a home with her father-in-law Baek Yoon-sik, “Would you recommend living with parents?” Jung replied, “If the relationship is reasonably close, I think I would recommend it. There are many good points. My father gives the kids rides and takes good care of them.”

She continued, “I have never gone to the OB-GYN alone. My husband goes with me, or when he has a shoot, my father-in-law takes me,” adding, “Because there are many advantages, I think it is something I can recommend.”

However, Jung drew a line, saying she could not recommend cohabitation in every case. She said, “To someone I am very close to, I would tell them to think again,” and made it clear: “I would never recommend it to my daughter. I am against living with in-laws, and I am against getting married in one’s twenties.”

Explaining why, she said, “Living with parents is not easy. Setting aside the parentchild relationship, adults pursue different directions in life,” and added, “When you are married, you only need to focus on the two of you, and when you have children, only on the children; but living with elders creates additional responsibilities.”

She went on, “We prepare lunch and dinner for my father-in-law and make hospital or hair salon appointments for him. We have been folding and putting away his laundry for 17 years,” and confided, “I do not dislike it. Because he is the family of the person I love, I think it is right for me to shoulder it.” She added honestly, “That said, I hope my children do not live that kind of life.”

Jung also said, “My husband helps a lot, and because he is grateful to me, he tries to do even better, which becomes a virtuous cycle,” adding, “So I have no major complaints about my life now, though I still hope my kids do not have to live that way.”

Meanwhile, Jung married Baek Do-bin, the son of actor Baek Yoon-sik, in 2009, and they have one son and one daughter.
