MBC every1, MBC M broadcast screen capture of ‘Show! Champion’
The ‘Gen Z’ group Kiki(KiiiKiii : Jiyu, Isol, Sui, Haeum, Kiya) has captured its first music show trophy since its comeback.
On the 4th, Kiki took first place on MBC every1 and MBC M’s music program ‘Show! Champion’, winning the first Champion Song of February with the new track ‘404 (New Era)’.
Through Starship Entertainment, Kiki shared, “We are so proud to be able to share the joy of our first No. 1 after our comeback with Tiki (our official fan club). We prepared ‘404 (New Era)’ while thinking about how to show you our new side in an even cooler way, and thanks to so many people loving it and sending support, we are promoting happily day by day. We will work even harder and do our very best as Kiki so we can repay the interest and love you have given us.”
That day, Kiki drew attention with refined styling in white tones. Beyond steady live vocals and a diverse range, the performance highlighted the individuality of the members and their teamwork, completing a free and confident mood.
In the encore stage that followed the No. 1 announcement, the group’s true strengths shone even brighter. While fully savoring the moment and freely enjoying the stage, they delivered unwavering live vocals, and their signature confident energy left viewers with a pleasant afterglow.
‘404 (New Era)’ is the title track of the second mini album released on the 26th of last month, ‘Delulu Pack’. Built on UK house and garage sounds with an addictive beat, the song blends the members’ distinctive vocals and rapping. Its unique lyrics reinterpret the webpage error code ‘404 Not Found’ as ‘freedom that exists without coordinates’, earning enthusiastic responses from listeners at home and abroad.
After release, the track quickly entered Melon’s TOP100 and, as of 9 a.m. today (the 5th), peaked at No. 12, while topping both Bugs’ daily and real-time charts. It is also continuing a steep rise on domestic music charts such as Genie, Flo, and Vibe, ranking No. 3 on Spotify Korea, and, from the 30th until now, holding No. 1 for seven consecutive days across popular songs, videos, and albums on Apple Music in Korea, cementing its presence.
Alongside this, the music video, choreography video, and short-form content for ‘404 (New Era)’ are drawing buzz with Kiki’s signature natural, unadorned charm. The visuals and styling that tap into 2000s sensibilities are not only resonating with many, but challenges created with various stars and creators are also keeping the heat around ‘404 (New Era)’ going.
Meanwhile, Kiki is set to perform ‘404 (New Era)’ on Mnet’s ‘M Countdown’ today.
