U+mobiletv X Lifetime new drama ‘Love Phobia’
Kim Hyun-jin transforms into a pretty-boy romance novelist, poised to steal hearts.
Premiering at 11 p.m. on the 19th via U+mobiletv and Lifetime(Lifetime), the new drama ‘Love Phobia’ (written by Lee Se-ryeong/directed by Wang Hye-ryeong/produced by WEMAD) follows Yoon Bi-a (played by Yeonwoo), the head of a dating app who feels more at ease with AI than with people, and Han Seon-ho (played by Kim Hyun-jin), a romantic novelist, as they use AI to design a smart romance and come to realize the true meaning of love. It will be available first via U+mobiletv VOD.
In ‘Love Phobia’, Kim Hyun-jin plays Han Seon-ho, a romance novelist who has captured both striking looks and strong writing skills. Thanks to his appearance, Han enjoys idol-level popularity, yet he grapples with an identity crisis as a writer in a reality that notices only the surface. In the midst of unexpected drift, he becomes entangleddue to a certain incidentwith Yoon Bi-a (Yeonwoo), the CEO of the AI dating app ‘It’s You’, with whom he doesn’t see eye to eye on anything from start to finish.
In the stills released on the 5th, Kim Hyun-jin boasts visuals worthy of the title ‘the idol of the literary world’, with luminous skin and finely balanced features. The sight of Kim signing books with a focused expression evokes the feeling that star author Han Seon-ho has been brought to life.
In another still, Han Seon-ho scans his surroundings with a serious look, heightening the tension. Having joined ‘It’s You’ almost by accident and flaunting clashing chemistry with Yoon Bi-a, he sparks curiosity about what on earth has happened to him. Viewers are eager to see how Kim Hyun-jin will depict Han Seon-ho’s multifaceted charmtender at times, cool at others.
‘Love Phobia’ is an SF romantic comedy that departs from the usual romance-drama mold by combining the unique theme of AI. Director Wang Hye-ryeong, who proved her stylish and witty touch through ‘The Deal’, ‘Youth Blossom’, and ‘I Will Get Off Here, Earth’, teams up with writer Lee Se-ryeong, recognized for her delicate pen in works such as ‘Love Broken’ and ‘Please, Summer’, to raise expectations.
