tvN WedThu drama ‘I’ll Give You the Universe’ capture

Actor Bae In-hyuk made a strong impression with his standout ability to embody his character.

In tvN’s new WedThu drama ‘I’ll Give You the Universe’ (directed by Lee Hyun-seok and Jung Yeo-jin; written by Su-jin and Shin Yi-hyun; planned by Studio Dragon; produced by Scene & Studio Co., Ltd.), which aired on the 4th, Bae In-hyuk took on the role of Seon Tae-hyung, naturally portraying a complicated inner life beneath a cold exterior and adding interest to the narrative.

The broadcast captured a striking first encounter born of bad blood between Tae-hyung and Hyeon-jin (played by Noh Jeong-eui), seizing viewers’ attention. Meeting over a secondhand lighting deal, Tae-hyung and Hyeon-jin stood on opposite sides as a seller seeking the full price and a buyer wanting even a slightly lower one, creating taut tension with a standoff where neither would back down. Later, upon learning by chance that the person set to marry Hyeon-jin’s older sister was his own older brother Woo-jin (played by Ha Jun), Tae-hyung went to the family meeting, where his slanted attitude and cutting tone chilled the mood, revealing a razor-edged presence.

However, he also revealed a wounded inner self upon discovering that Woo-jin had never once brought up their family, showed unexpected consideration by acting as chief mourner at the funeral hall after news of Woo-jin’s accident, and silently looked after Hyeon-jin, who was hurt because of him. Bae In-hyuk delicately conveyed the other side of Tae-hyung, who appears prickly and cold on the outside but has a warm heart within, amplifying the character’s appeal.

Contrary to the line “Let’s not see each other again” at the end of the episode, the subsequent teaser showed Tae-hyung and Hyeon-jin facing each other once more, heightening anticipation for what lies ahead.
