Singer-songwriter Gureum will hold a solo concert series.
Beginning with a show on the 15th, Gureum will present the solo concert series ‘Airplane Mode’ across three installments.
‘Airplane Mode’ is a solo concert staged under the same title as Gureum’s fourth full-length album ‘Airplane Mode,’ released last December. Including the triple title tracks, Gureum took part in writing, composing, and arranging all nine tracks on the studio album, reinforcing not only strong credentials as a high-caliber producer but also a distinctive musical world as a solo artist.
Planned to portray Gureum’s musical identity in three dimensions, the series will run across three shows. Each venue will feature a different set list and concept, showcasing Gureum’s wide musical spectrum.
The first show on the 15th, at Moraenae Geungnak in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, will center on powerful band music that matches the venue’s atmosphere. The second show follows on the 27th at I Love Art Center in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. In keeping with the venue’s focus on classical performances, Gureum will play a grand piano and, together with one wind instrumentalist, present newly arranged, ballad-leaning numbers.
The final show on March 1 will take place at Gureumarae Small Theater in Mapo-gu, Seoul. While building the stage with the band setup Gureum often favors, the production will add LED-driven staging to bring the series to a close.
Tickets for the first show on February 15 sold out quickly as soon as they opened on January 26. The second and third shows, on February 27 and March 1, will go on sale via Melon Ticket at 8 p.m. on February 5 and February 6, respectively.
Gureum signed an exclusive contract with ‘tapes,’ a label under Mound Media founded last March. Since joining tapes, Gureum has contributed lyrics, composition, and arrangement to various artists’ songs, broadly showcasing capabilities as a producer. The solo concert series ‘Airplane Mode’ is expected to signal the full-fledged start of Gureum’s musical activities for the year.
