Actor Jung Jin-woon took on the role of the Dongji Jungchuwonsa in the film ‘The Man Who Lives with the King,’ proving loyalty and valor and leaving a deep impression.
Set in 1457 at Cheongnyeongpo, ‘The Man Who Lives with the King’ tells the story of a village head who volunteers for exile for the revival of the village and a young former king who is driven from the throne and banished.
Depicting time in exile that history did not record, the film highlights figures who, amid the whirl of power, sought to realize ‘righteousness’ from their respective places, transcending king and people, status and position.
The Dongji Jungchuwonsa portrayed by Jung Jin-woon stands with Prince Geumseong (played by Lee Joon-hyuk), a principled official who never bends his convictions even before the tide of the times. Placing loyalty to His Majesty and the greater good ahead of his own safety, he symbolically showed what ‘righteous choice’ means in the film.
With unwavering eyes and rough breaths, Jung Jin-woon expressed the character’s resolve and convincingly completed devotion through action. Through this role, his performance, densely building integrity and fidelity, fully embodied the Dongji Jungchuwonsa with a steadfast bearing, lending stronger support to the message the work contains.
Showing a new face with every project and expanding his acting spectrum, Jung Jin-woon has completed another impressive character through ‘The Man Who Lives with the King,’ and attention is turning to the performances he will deliver next.
The film ‘The Man Who Lives with the King’ is currently playing in theaters to strong acclaim.
